The adaptation of one of DC comics most favorites heroes is done well in this film. Reeve plays and looks like Clark Kent. The movie is fun, suspenseful and full of action for an 80's movie. Each character in the comic that needs to be involved in the first one is done right. The movie spawned 4 sequels and then was remade more times over. In this case for this series only 2 were needed.

Only the greatest batman since Adam West!! And Jack's inner Romero was better than anything since. This movie is the reason my autistic son loves batman. (0 more)
I'm batman
Keaton was phenomenal in this film. The eccentricity of Bruce Wayne came so naturally to him. And Jack Nicholson as the Joker was spot on. And let's not forget the far too brief appearance of the late, great Jack Pallance. All in all, a perfect page to screen adaptation.

This book is infinitely better than any adaptation you can watch on TV. Atwood presents a stunning, stark creation of the world within Gilead, where women are there for one purpose; to breed. The story of one woman’s journey and the harsh reality of it gives you a sense of frustration. TV land has managed to spin another season out of this story. However, read the book and you’ll understand why I prefer it up to the bitter end.

"Directed by the Portugese master Manoel de Oliveira. Mr. de Oliveira made his first film, a silent one in 1929, and is probably shooting something [now]. A very idiosyncratic and unique filmmaker with a very singular sense of storytelling and pace. This is his adaptation of Flaubert’s Madame Bovary. It has probably my favorite last line in cinema – along with “Forget it, Jake. It’s Chinatown.” – which is, “No one is so good as I, in pretending life is beautiful.”"
