A Kevin Williamson Movie
I Know What You Did Last Summer- is like one of the longest horror titles of all time.

Yes this movie came our in the late 90's, so of course it was written by Kevin Williamson.

The plot: A year after running over a fisherman and dumping his body in the water, four friends reconvene when Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) receives a frightening letter telling her that their crime was seen. While pursuing who he thinks is responsible for the letter, Barry (Ryan Phillippe) is run over by a man with a meat hook. The bloodletting only increases from there, as the killer with the hook continues to stalk Julie, Helen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.).

A typical 90's horror cast.

Its a okay movie, its not bad but far from great.

Man do I love action movies, but this one seemed to get out of control sometimes. I really do like the XXX series but there were somethings I would change about this one. The fact that Xander Cage was dead and come back was fine, but I would have liked a little back story on where he was hanging out. It also felt like he was doing a good job staying off the grid so finding him that easily and getting him on board felt simple.

The opening scene was OK, that's usually the part of the action movie that is supposed to grab you. But with Gibbons blowing up and not being a part of the movie was kind of sad. I really do like Vin and Sam's back and forth during the movie. Adding a little comedy the way they do is why I like their chemistry on screen. The rest of the plot was simple and straight forward. Only adding a few twists to a movie like this makes it more fun to watch and less to think about what is going on.

I like the addition of the XXX teams, it really showed that something was going on in between movies. Although it made is seem like the "bad" XXX team went rogue, but they were still trying to do right by the country. The team up between the 2 was fantastic, they finally realized they were on the same team and kicked some ass.

Now for the bad, there were times in this movie where the stunt work was too over the top even for me. You can do action without all the flipping and jumping. There are great stunt coordinators out there that can put together a great fight scene with out all extra stuff and still make it a good movie. There were also a few parts of the movie were you could tell it was CGI and not edited very well. The most notable was the motorcycle jet skis on the water. You really could tell how fake it was. Which is sad because it really could have been a cool scene.

Overall the movie was fun to watch, I would see the other 2 XXX movies before jumping into this one. There are a few hidden easter eggs that might make the watch more enjoyable. I wouldn't look to hard into the quality, just sit back and enjoy the show.

"I can say that, in thinking about it, I was thinking five favorite-ish movies that seemed to be relatively inspiring to me as a filmmaker or something like that. One is a movie called Bad Taste by Peter Jackson. The reason that movie is one of my favorite films is because… two things. One, I saw it when I was very young because it had a very sort of provocative box cover of an alien giving you the middle finger, in the video store; that was very charming to me. It seemed like something that needed to be rented for a sleep over. It’s one of the grossest movies ever, so it was always the benchmark of, like, “Is there a more disgusting movie than this?” And also not a lot of people had seen it so it was like a badge of honor. But more importantly, when I decided that maybe movies was something I wanted to do, that movie was actually the first movie that I think made me think I could maybe do this. Because it was the first time I’d ever seen a movie where I realized how the movie was made. And I realized, “He’s just putting a camera on the back of the car;” “Oh, that’s just him with his friend doing this;” and, “I can see how he built that effect” or “I can see how he used ketchup for blood” or whatever. It was so rough around the edges, yet still compelling and well-made that it kind of gave me this sort of inspiration and confidence to be like, “All I have to do is go do it, like this guy just went and did it.” So that movie is, like, the number one movie that made me think, “Maybe I can try this.”"

Terrible Ending to a Bad Movie
Jesus’ Son is a collection of stories revolving around main character FH. A great concept with poor execution, this movie reminds me more of a wannabe Tarantino movie.

Acting: 10

Beginning: 10

Characters: 6

Cinematography/Visuals: 10

Conflict: 2
I could never latch on to what the movie was about or where things were ultimately heading. As a result, there never felt like there was any true conflict that I needed to care about. Most of the scenes felt like they weren’t of much consequence if they had been taken out or left in. This made it really hard to give two craps about the movie as a whole.

Entertainment Value: 6

Memorability: 7
I love the way director Alison Maclean approached the film. The way things are shot in story fashion with flashbacks and rewinds is very creative. While the execution didn’t deliver on the story I was hoping for, I applaud the attempt to be different.

Pace: 6
The movie isn’t overly long, there is just a little more fluff than what is needed. Again, not understanding the concept of what’s happening definitely makes it feel like time is moving slower. A better story would have alleviated this issue.

Plot: 2

Resolution: 4
About the best thing about the ending was that the movie was ending. Didn’t really tie anything up. Didn’t make me any more fulfilled for seeing the movie. No bueno.

Overall: 63
The reason why I enjoy my rating system so much is because you can come up short in some areas and still pass as a quality movie. Too much of a dip in multiple categories and you strike out. Jesus’ Son suffers from weak characters, minor conflict, and little “wow” quality. Not recommended.

Ever felt like you're doing the same thing over and over again, but can't remember when? Yeah, that's this movie. You don't even get time to blink, it's simply straight into action, again and again. Surprisingly, you don't feel like the repetition is getting old. A fast paced, thrilling ride, right to the very end. Plus it's Stephen Amell's cousin so he's very easy on the eyes :p Not bad for an Netflix Original.

Not as good as the book, but not bad
I read the book years ago and fell in love with it. I was excited to see the movie but was left a little disappointed. It was good but kind of ruined what I had made up in my imagination when I read the book. The story is beautiful, fun and action filled. The chemistry was perhaps lacking between the lead actors. It didn't really gel for me.

Beautifully made
A movie well made. The cast fit the characters well. There is romance, mystery, drama, and a lot of music. Song lyrics and voices are on point. As for acting, actors did an amazing job. Almost everything happens in the opera house and beneath it, which is not bad as it sounds. The building is beautifully decorated, and all it does is make you want to explore every room and every corner.

Meh
This movie had some potential but didn't live up to it. The idea wasn't bad but it just turned out to be a watered down version of "Poltergeist". The acting was just ok and the cinematography was about the same. Nothing really scary about this horror film though. The story moved along pretty slow with nothing too spectacular to offer. If you're really bored this one is an ok time waster. But overall, not really worth a watch.

Warning: Some animal abuse depicted (0 more)
This movie is really enjoyable if you're looking for something ridiculous to watch. I suppose it's considered "so bad it's good", but I legitimately enjoyed many parts of it and there was a lot of genuine humor.

As a warning, there is some abuse of animals in this film which is difficult to watch. Unfortunately, it's from an era where humane treatment of animals wasn't really considered important.
