Storyline I found implausible and was frustrating at times.

I had high expectations for this film and was disappointed, the fact the lead character should have died from hypothermia at least five times was clearly not acknowledged. The pure frustration at why he never seemed to carry the necessary amount of food and tools he needed despite living in the wilderness for so long. It was an implausible storyline, very long considering the content and the fight scene at the end was just irritating despite the film length build up to it. Not worth the hype.

The community of Shaker Heights has been meticulously planned, the curves in the road and the colour of the houses, even the residents within. But now they want to know who started the fires and why?
Elena Richardson has always lived there and now embodies the ideals and values of the neighbourhood. Enter Mia, a single mum to a teenaged girl, nomadically travelling from state to state in an old green car and finally landing squarely in Shaker. The Richardson family are all drawn to the pair, but Elena has reasons to dig deep into Mia’s past. This is a raw observation of two families and their entanglements, Ng adds a backdrop of an adoption battle and questions family values, morals and ethics. A book group must!

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
2019 | Action, Crime, Thriller
John Wick is an existential comedy about a man lost in a battle between the woman he loves and the work he can't leave behind. He transverses a desert landscape that signifies the loneliness he feels inside over abandoning his love. A mysterious stranger sings Roy Orbison while trapezist circle his head. Just kidding, John Wick gets a $14 millions bounty after an unauthorized murder. Every one is out to get him and his friends are given days to reprove their honor. The movie is nonstop action and acidic threats. Given how many time I have had to rethink the film, I realize while it had its small flaws, it is the best possible version of itself--hence the 10 bomb rating.

Dark Waters (2019)
Dark Waters (2019)
2019 | Drama
Not another remake of the Japanese movie about haunted plumbing, but a based-on-fact drama about a lawyer's long and gruelling battle to expose the truth about the contamination of the environment by synthetic long-chain fluorocarbons (the non-stick part of non-stick saucepans to you and me).

A very worthy and impassioned film about a serious and important topic, led well by Mark Ruffalo, with good support from a strong cast. On the other hand, it does come across as just a little bit dour, and the nature of the story doesn't necessarily lend itself to a conventional narrative structure. The kind of film that I'm glad gets made, but I still find it admirable more than genuinely likeable or enjoyable.
