I actually really liked this adaption of Ender's Game. Mostly because Harrison Ford was perfect as Colonel Graff. The cast was amazing, anytime you can get Ben Kingsley in a movie, you know it'll be good.

Holmes & Watson (2018) is excrementary, my dear readers. #Review
The 1988 Michael Caine/ Ben Kingsley movie “Without A Clue” asked what would happen if Holmes was actually an idiot and Dr Watson was the genius but "Holmes & Watson" dares to ask what if they were both imbeciles, in a crass and witless farce? The answer is excrementary, my dear reader...

I had high hopes for it too and lord knows I’ve got a soft spot for many a ‘terrible’ comedy but this...this was just atrocious. ?

The week before Christmas I booked tickets to see this on 27th December, hoping for a nice bit of post Christmas comedy. When the reviews started pouring in on boxing day, similar to yours, I decided to cancel and settled for another night in, drinking and eating crap while watching Netflix.

Fairly polished but essentially ramshackle low-budget British sci-fi. Alien robots invade and order everyone to stay indoors in perpetuity (insert your own joke here). Plucky group of teenagers discover a flaw in the robots' control system and start to fight back.

An odd mixture, like something from the Children's Film Foundation mashed up with a British gangster movie and some Sci-Fi channel filler: tries hard to be all grown up and cool but is fundamentally too polite to really convince. Good special effects, but there's nothing noteworthy about that these days; what does lift the film into the realms of watchability is another of those Ben Kingsley - sorry, Sir Ben Kingsley - performances where he manages to find reality and pathos where it has no right to be. Gillian Anderson also performs to her usual high standards. Passes the time reasonably well, I suppose.

I've watched this movie many times and still uncertain of what is fact.
I love this movie, after watching it so many times, I have yet to determine what the outcome is of the whole thing, how much of the movie is self fabricated, if any, what's implanted. I just love every last aspect of this.

Furthermore, if anyone knows of any supplemental material to this, please send your flyers my way!

Not a bad thriller

A thriller about an ex-army man who is forced to take a job in a shopping mall as a night security guard. On his first night a young girl asks for help as people are chasing her. What follows is a good thriller with some interesting twists as the plot unfolds. Ben kingsley as the leader of the bad guys steals this one easily. Antonio Banderas plays the ex-army guy with a dark and disturbing past.

This film has a promising storyline.A serial killer is abducting and murdering young women in Minnesota and sex crime investigator Marshall (cavill) is leading the pursuit to catch him.A retired judge (ben kingsley) and a young girl are going round luring in paedophiles and castrating them. They both eventually meet and team up sort of (along with a female police profiler) to try and catch the killer.

This film was trying to emulate other classic cat and mouse thrillers like Seven and in parts did give it a go but ultimately failed to do so.The twist they go for when it comes to revealing the killer was ok but if you follow the story carefully you may work it out before then.

Cavill and Kingsley played their parts well and there are 1 or 2 good action sequences.A good little movie that is worth a watch if your looking for a good thriller.

Pseudo Live action remake (or should that be re-telling?) of the 1967 Jazz-tastic Disney original, with a star studded voice cast that includes Bill Murray (as Baloo), Ben Kingsley (Bagheera), Idris Elba (Shere Khan), Scarlett Johansson (Ka) and Christoper Walken (King Louis).

It's rather weird, however, seeing/hearing these voices come out the impressive-CGI'd creatures: for me, a disassociation that the film never really gets over.

But, yes, the "Bear Necessities" and "I want to be like you" both do get a reprise in this movie, but neither version can hold a candle to the original.

I feel like this movie suffered from the same thing that Anthropoid thing, a boring build-up that doesn't really pay off in the end.
This movie felt like a 2 hours movie, which is never good. It was a long slog, and the tension wasn't built enough to actually interest me. It was a good story, but the pacing issue was bad.
Ben Kingsley was silently menacing, and tried to weasel his way out of taking the blame for anything. I felt like the movie was perhaps too kind towards his character? Oscar Isaac did well in his role, but it still wasn't enough to keep me completely enthralled.

What a cast, what a disappointment.
After playing the game for the first time recently, I was kind of excited to see the film, and to find out if Uwe Boll's movies were as bad as I'd heard. They are. It's hard to describe why this film is so bad, but unfortunately it is just dreadful.

For a film featuring the likes of Sir Ben Kingsley, Udo Kier, Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Madsen, and even Meat Loaf, these big names do nothing to distract from the terrible writing, production quality and general laziness of the film.

Overall, avoid this like the plague!

Iron Man 3 (2013)
Iron Man 3 (2013)

Shane Black’s take on Iron Man 3 angered and delighted fans in equal measure. Which camp you belong to mostly depends on how you feel Black handled the film’s main villain; The Mandarin.

In my opinion, Ben Kingsley’s portrayal of the iconic badass was a little wasted. The revelation that The Mandarin was a character created by Guy Pearce’s Aldrich Killian creates yet another poor MCU villain. Had Kingsley indeed been the real Mandarin, he could’ve rivalled Loki for MCU villain supremacy. As it stands, Iron Man 3 is a brave film and that in itself means it should be applauded. It also has a great finale and beautiful cinematography.
