Expirment Gone Right
The Phantom Creeps- is a really good horror film.

The Plot: Mad Dr. Zorka uses his arsenal of bizarre inventions to conquer the world in this feature-length version of the serial.

I like when Bela Lugosi plays as a mad scientist. He does a excellent job when plays as a mad scientist.

A 78-minute feature film version of the film, cut down from the serial's original 265 minutes, was released for television showing in 1949. Which is the verison i watched.

The serial contains some similarities with the earlier serial The Vanishing Shadow, such as an invisibility belt and a remote-control robot. Stock footage was used from The Invisible Ray, including scenes of Dr. Zorka finding the meteorite in Africa. As with several Universal serials, some of the stock music came from Frankenstein. The Phantom Creeps' car chase was itself used as stock footage in later serials.

Its a really good film.

Great backstory to work through (also listed in the bad)
Cecil's incredibly soothing voice
The Weather (are we still waiting for the bus in the rain?)
Long, LONG backstory to slog through (also listed in the good) (1 more)
A bit of a format change, part way through (I preferred the original flavor)
Oh, where to begin? I loved this podcast from the first episode, it's weird in the best ways. Think of an banana split sundae; one scoop of Lovecraft, one scoop of Stephen King, on scoop of various mythologies, a banana of Dadaism, some sprinkles of your local independent music scene, generous dollops of LGBTQ+ acceptance and support, and a single, solitary maraschino cherry of optimism in the face of overwhelming anxiety and depression.

All of this, of course, coming together as the public local news station for a small town, somewhere int he desert.

It's fun. I recommend it. Just make sure the locals don't notice that you're an interloper.

Irritating monkey. Even more irritating (and bizarre) fox. (0 more)
A fun family movie.
Here’s a film that is not trying to be anything other than a fun and much needed summer outing for families. Disney used to do this sort of live-action family film thing so well in the 70’s and 80’s, before they got obsessed with pointless recreations of their cartoon classics.

The director is James Bobin, who’s formerly directed a number of the Muppet movies, and this movie breathes with the same sense of anarchic fun without being too up itself.

The film occasionally makes you cringe, with some dreadfully (and deliberately) naff songs, but I enjoyed it and for the right audience (kids 8 to 12) I think they’ll have a blast.

Quirky fun
You know what to expect when watching a comedy made by the Coen brothers, and Burn After Reading doesn't hold any surprises. It's ridiculous, yet still quite funny and pretty bizarre, all the while being fairly enjoyable.

The best thing about this film is the cast, they're phenomenal and look like they're having so much fun playing various types of idiotic people. Brad Pitt is downright hilarious although John Malkovich steals the show with some brilliant lines. The plot is silly but I think that's the point, and it's fun to watch these bumbling idiots do stupid things and the CIA's response to them. There are a decent amount of laugh out loud moments. For me I also enjoyed watching Linda's attempts at internet dating as sadly thats something I've experienced first hand! It's just an all round entertaining and silly film, and as long as you don't take it too seriously you should find it fairly enjoyable.
