SONATA is Viola's book. Well, hers and Lucien's. And if you liked Mr Grumpy-Pants in Melody's book, then you are going to love him in this! We begin with Lucien trying to rescue Viola, but being as she thinks she's going insane, it's not that easy. Rest assured, there is plenty of action and humour in the mix, as Lucien and Viola become mates.
I am loving this series. It really is that simple. The idea of the Muses being mated to vampire brothers gives me so much to look forward to. You know how greedy I am, I want all the details. And, lucky me, I think I'm going to get them. Not all in one go, of course, because there's no way Ms Daniels would be that kind to me. Instead, she'll eek them out, leaving me turning the pages as I continue the story. I guess that makes her a pretty good author, eh? đ
I thoroughly enjoyed Melody's story, and I have loved this one. But the next one - MoĂŤl and Harmony? Oh my, I really can't wait for that one.
Back to this one - well written with a smooth pace, hot and steamy where it should be, with plenty of action and humour. All in all, a perfect read, and thereby absolutely recommended by me!

I am loving this series. It really is that simple. The idea of the Muses being mated to vampire brothers gives me so much to look forward to. You know how greedy I am, I want all the details. And, lucky me, I think I'm going to get them. Not all in one go, of course, because there's no way Ms Daniels would be that kind to me. Instead, she'll eek them out, leaving me turning the pages as I continue the story. I guess that makes her a pretty good author, eh? đ

THE FROG PRINCE is the first book in the Curse of the Dark Kingdom series and manages to tell you all about how the curse was set in place without overloading you with information all at once. Each of the brothers and sister have to deal with a different curse. Alistair is the one who has turned green and has gills, together with a silver metal mask that has fused with his face.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story as Alistair, with help from his 2IC, comes to realise that he is more than just his father's weapon and that things aren't just black and white. Evonna has her own trials and tribulations to contend with and I loved how both sides were worked into the story, making you care about the characters.
There is an overall story arc and a HFN ending. You don't get a marriage but I do feel these will continue to grow in the other stories. One thing I loved is that the sister is the one freed first, even though this isn't her story! I can't wait to read more in this series.
If you're a fan of fantasy romance and fairy tale retellings, then I definitely recommend you try this one!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story as Alistair, with help from his 2IC, comes to realise that he is more than just his father's weapon and that things aren't just black and white. Evonna has her own trials and tribulations to contend with and I loved how both sides were worked into the story, making you care about the characters.
There is an overall story arc and a HFN ending. You don't get a marriage but I do feel these will continue to grow in the other stories. One thing I loved is that the sister is the one freed first, even though this isn't her story! I can't wait to read more in this series.
If you're a fan of fantasy romance and fairy tale retellings, then I definitely recommend you try this one!

I see them as wolf like creatures. Looking forward to more.

MY SWAN PRINCE is a retelling of The Six Swans where one of the main characters (Max) is a descendant of the original swans and hates the story. The other MC (Lourde) is part of the witch's line, being brought up to know his destiny is to kill the last swan and rid the world of their influence.
Max is very wealthy but works hard. His only friend is his bodyguard, Fizz. He does a lot of work for charity and ends up getting roped into storytime at a library. That would be okay except he has to read The Six Swans. Lourde goes to Chicago from London, determined to find and kill the last swan shifter. These two have a history and bond that neither are aware of at first. The story unravels a complicated history and motives.
This is a fast-paced story with a lot of backstory/history to understand. I'll be honest, I didn't get it all as I kept having to go back and figure out just who was which name. Although Max and Lourde were protective over each other, I didn't feel much of a connection between them other than what I was told had happened.
It was a good retelling of an underrated Brothers Grimm story.

Like being back with old friends....
Tenet? Iâm sorry, no, THIS was actually the biggest movie release of last week. Well, it is when youâre currently having to isolate at home and cannot go to the cinema for a few weeks. Despite that, I was actually way more excited for this to hit Disney+ this morning than a man my age probably should have been, and I have been for sometime, since it was first announced. I even managed to convince my daughter to get up early and watch with me, recreating those wonderful days when we both used to get up bright and early on a Saturday morning and sit and watch back to back episodes.
For the uninitiated, Phineas and Ferb are two step-brothers who spend their summer holiday coming up with highly elaborate ways to occupy every day, usually resulting in some wacky adventures and an extremely frustrated sister, Candace. Candace is forever trying to bust the boys and get their mum to catch them in the act, only to fail every time as some last second incident conveniently erases any evidence. Oh, and they also have a pet platypus called Perry, who without their knowledge works as an agent for a secret animal organisation, trying each episode to thwart the latest evil scheme hatched by Dr Doofenshmirtz. Itâs very funny, features some incredibly catchy songs, and is just an extremely well written show for both kids and adults to enjoy. Running for four seasons, and racking up over 200 episodes before ending in 2015, the show also spawned a number of crossover specials involving Marvel and Star Wars.
Candace against the universe is the second feature length Phineas and Ferb movie and opens with Candace, lamenting the sad fact that no matter what she does, she never manages to successfully bust her brothers. All of this is delivered in the form of a song, and acts as a nostalgic reminder of some of the crazy inventions and adventures the boys have been involved in over the course of the series. The song ends with another perfect chance for Candace to bust the boys, who are currently enjoying themselves with their friends in the back garden. But of course, she fails. After heading out to the front of the house, and meeting up with friend Vanessa, she spots an alien spaceship. Believing her brothers to be behind it somehow, she and Vanessa are sucked up inside, before taking off and shooting up into the sky.
The boys see Candace flying away in the ship, and after photographing the alien license plate, are able to quickly identify where sheâs headed (as you doâŚ). They round up the gang and quickly rustle up a portal in their back garden (as you doâŚ), in order to jump to the planet where Candace is being taken. The portal takes them via Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc, where they pick up Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Perry the Platypus (unknowingly), before heading off in a spaceship of their own. When they do catch up with Candace, they discover that she is being hailed as âthe chosen oneâ by the alien race that captured her. But does the queen of the planet have a more sinister reason for bringing Candace all this way?
Itâs fair to say that, unless youâre already a fan of the show, youâre unlikely to have any interest whatsoever in watching Candace Against the Universe. For fans of the show though, this is a wonderful trip down memory lane, unless youâve already spent all of lockdown recently catching up on all of the episodes on Disney+, and it feels so good to be back in the company of such wonderful characters. Thereâs a lot of comfort to be had from the running gags and themes of the episode format of the show, and the only thing I found with this movie, and the crossover shows, is that they end up feeling like a dragged out episode at times, tending to sag a little around the middle.
Itâs a very minor complaint though. The songs are as good as ever, including a song from Doofenshmirtz about âadultingâ, and the humour is still smart and on point, although Buford does tend to get some of the funnier lines in my opinion. And when Buford gets ridiculed for bringing a canoe with him on their trip to the alien planet, and Doofenshmirtz gets laughed at for inventing something as stupid as a âChicken Replace-inatorâ â basically a gun which swaps whatever you fire at with the nearest chicken â you just know theyâre working on delivering us some great gags later on throughout the movie. And obviously, Perry the Platypus gets to save the day as usual, and without anyone even realising it. Itâs like being back in the company of old friends. Fingers crossed that this isnât the last we see of Phineas, Ferb and the gang.

Time to stop making these now
The original Despicable Me is a firm favourite in our house. If we come across it while channel hopping, it usually stays on until the end and still manages to raise plenty of laughs. The second Despicable Me was OK, but not very memorable. The Minions movie was a train wreck, and proved that theyâre at their best when in short bursts and as part of someone elseâs movie. And now we have a third Despicable Me, which continues the trend set by the second of just being OK, but now with the added feeling that they really should stop making these.
A news report introduces us to 80s TV child star Balthazar Bratt. After a successful run of his own TV show, things went badly wrong for Balthazar when puberty hit and the squeaky voice and zits resulted in Hollywood ditching his show. Balthazar disappeared from the public eye and the report then asks the question âwhere is he now?â. Cut to the ocean, and a diamond heist on a ship which, if youâve seen the relevant trailer, means youâve pretty much seen the entire scene. Balthazar uses bubblegum as a weapon, along with a keytar, and enjoys tackling his enemies with 80s inspired dance fights. The scene ends with Gru, naked and caught up in the bubblegum, embarrassing himself as he floats through the city for all to see while a couple of minions enjoy themselves at a beach party. Yep, pretty much the whole original trailer has just played for us.
Gru and Lucy both find themselves sacked from the Anti-Villain league for failing to capture Balthazar during the heist but they donât have long to think about what to do next before Gru discovers that he has a twin brother called Dru, that he knew nothing about. Dru got to live with his dad while Gru got to live with his mum following their parents split. They all then head off to Freedonia for a family reunion.
The rest of the movie is pretty much a big mess, with far too many dull and pointless subplots. The main story involves the two brothers, getting to know each other and eventually teaming up to recover the diamond from Balthazar once again and to finally capture him. But this is all at the expense of pretty much every other character in the movie. The Minions have already gone off on their own subplot, having left Gru to go in search of a more villain-like life. Ending up in jail, they soon decide that they miss Gru, so break out in order to try and get back to him in time for the end of the movie. And as for the girls â Agnes is on the hunt for a unicorn, because a bloke in the pub said there was one in the woods, Margo is trying to avoid a local boy who has a crush on her and Edith just doesnât really feature very much at all. And after briefly helping Gru out at the start of the movie, the main focus for Lucy throughout the rest of the movie is to try and be accepted as a mum to the three girls.
The final act, with the brothers working together to stop Balthazar from getting his revenge and making a big mess in Hollywood, is fairly entertaining, and the Minions still manage to raise big laughs in pretty much every scene they feature, but overall this was pretty disappointing.
