Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2204 KP) rated Encyclopedia Brown Shows the Way in Books
Jul 15, 2024
The ten stories in this book are fairly short, which makes them easy to breeze through. I still find I rarely solve the case before Encyclopedia does, but that’s okay. I have fun with them. There isn’t time for much in the way of twists here, and the characters are fairly thin. I don’t think kids will mind either one. What they might find off putting is the dated elements of the books. Like, what’s an encyclopedia? Still, if they are willing to pick it up, they’ll find these stories fun.

Rikkasaurus (0 KP) rated Mass Effect: Andromeda in Video Games
May 7, 2018
My thoughts? I played Andromeda when it first came out. It was super buggy. The facial expressions were laughable. But it was in space with all our familiar ME Easter eggs, had great game play, and a vast amount of potential. However due to the backlash of fans (yes, EA should have NOT released such a unrefined game. Yes, it isn't as good as the original trilogy - because it is unfair to compare it to the story arc of a complete trilogy!) EA has stepped away from continuing with this story which is the most frustrating thing ever. EA needs to bring it back and the team needs to break boundaries and be creative to bring this story line further to life and continue it on for a DLC or next game.
Lexi (8 KP) rated Pokémon GO in Apps
Sep 3, 2018
It has a very good way of motivating you to walk just that little bit further. Whether it's a pokemon you haven't caught or just to reach another pokestop, before you know it you've walked a few miles a day. Great for social anxiety and for fitness/weight loss goals.
Love the new friends feature which rewards you for playing with friends. There are special bonuses for certain group activities such as trading and baking in gyms.
It's generally just really fun. I've been playing since its launch in 2016. The game has currently only reached generation three so there's still so much to achieve!
Leah (: (569 KP) rated Alice Anonymous (Project Scion) in Books
Nov 11, 2018
The story follows Alice as she goes about her life in a small town. All of this gets disrupted by Trey and his frequent visits to the store where she works.
Alice has secrets but what’s exciting is that the big secrets are hidden even to her. I enjoyed this as it bugs me in a mystery when characters allude to these secrets but just don’t tell you and drag it out for suspense.
It was good to see Alice and Trey develop during the story and not stick to classic stereotypes ie arrogant rich guy.
It is really hard to figure out who to trust as everyone seems a bit suspicious at times, some more so than others.
The story links with another series by the author but you don’t need to have read that series for this one. I’m not sure if the next book will follow the exact same characters or pick up some of the other characters but I am definitely looking forward to the next book.
