A nice change from the over-rated Marvel powerhouse
So when this came out, reviews were either positive or negative across the board. You can put me in the positive column. It's not great, but it's good. It's just so nice of a change from the Marvel "got to see them all, even though they're not as good as we say" universe. It's so good to see a comic book movie that's under 2 hours, that moves along at a good pace & is not in the least boring. Let's get the negatives out of the way. Sophie Tucker is a terrible actress. She's terrible as Jean Grey. And although I did find the movie to move along at a good pace, I found the story lacking. They did cram one of comic's greatest stories into a short (for a superhero) film. Aside from Tucker, the acting was very good in the film. And let's just say, the X-Men, along with Magneto's gang, kick some serious ass in one of the best scenes I've seen in a hero flick. Like I said, the film is good, not great. Is it enjoyable? Definitely. Would I watch it again, yes.

Twell and the Uprising (Como Chronicles #3) by Kate O'Leary
ARRRRGGGGHHHHH - that's how I feel about Twell and the Uprising, the final book in the Como Chronicles so far. I say so far because I'm really hoping for an epilogue type story, just because I'm greedy and I really don't want to leave Twell, Jonaz, and co. Once again, this book starts where the last book finished. Twell is held captive by the Abwarzians, and they are not treating her gently! Not only have they put a chip in her head which causes her untold pain, but she is dehydrated and forced to fight. Now, one of the things that I have loved about Twell is that she is NOT a damsel in distress. So when she hallucinated near the beginning of the book, I was wondering what was going on! She'd never been rescued before! Of course, it turned out that she wasn't being rescued, which strangely made me sigh with relief. Even in these circumstances, Twell makes friends with those that you would think she would hate. No, Twell is able to look past things that others can't, which is in part what makes her so dangerous to the G.B. Also, Shanna makes a reappearance.
I won't say anything else about the book as I really don't want to give away any spoilers. Suffice it to say, that I have loved all three of these books, but especially this one. You won't regret it, I can promise you that. And if you don't? Well, there's always a long walk in the wetlands!

Sometimes you come across a really easy to read and exciting thriller novel, that doesn’t take up too much head space, and is alotta fun… Copycat is exactly that! This one really helped me out of a reading slump, hallelujah!
I can’t turn around to you and say this is the most menacing, gripping and terrific thriller I’ve ever read, but I can say that it’s worth picking up if you’re looking for a non-challenging but exciting read.
The characters in this one are nicely developed, but there was a bit of a lack of connection between me and our main character Sarah. I think if I’d been able to get to know her better, I might have had more sympathy for her in parts, but alas. I found a lot of the family related situations to be very realistic, and liked the dynamic between husband and wife.
As for the rest of the story, the plot wasn’t particularly realistic, but that didn’t ruin the book in any way. Sometimes you just need a story to take you away from real life and give you a fun fictional tale to follow. Now, just because I didn’t feel like this one was extremely realistic, doesn’t mean I didn’t find parts of it creepy! Some of the “stalkers” ploys at getting Sarah nervous and afraid were really creative and menacing!
In the end, I had guessed how the story was going to play out, but I didn’t have a reason as to why it was going to play out that way. Even though I had my theory on the “stalker”, which turned out to be correct, I didn’t find this took away from the excitement of the end of the novel. I still got to enjoy the now knowing of how the book was going to conclude.
Overall, I really enjoyed this thriller and would definitely say it’s one to look out for if you’re looking for something a little less challenging, but still just as exciting to read as some other darker, more meaningful thrillers on the market (like Watching Edie or My Sister’s Bones, for example).

so much sex!
Independent reviewer for Divine Magazine, I was gifted my copy of this book.
For the most part, I DID enjoy this. Mostly.
I will always say I like my male/male books on the more explicit side, and I will make no apologies for that. More sexy time is always better for me, SO LONG as the story can carry it. However, HERE, I found that while there is a lot of sex, it's not carried well by the story. What is here is good, and it's well written and super sexy, but I just felt the overall story gets lost somewhere along the way.
Sawyer's husband died 6 years ago, and he took to the bottle to literally drown his sorrows. Now, he's sober and ups and moves clear across the country for a new start. That there are three guys in the building with a friends with benefit type arrangement, helps Sawyer a lot.
The type of relationship Sawyer had with his husband, the depth of that, creeps out slowly, as does the depth of the relationship between Benny and Luke, and I did like that. I LOVED that Luke and Benny were well established and Derek their sometime third. LOVED that Luke saw that Sawyer was a sub, very quickly, and that he began teaching Derek to be Sawyer's Dom. Loved that Derek didn't even KNOW he wanted to be a Dom, before Sawyer. I loved that once in, Derek was adamant that Sawyer was HIS and HIS alone and HE would be the one to give Sawyer what he needed, even if Derek wasn't keen on whatever that might be.
So, what is here is great, brilliant and all that but I just felt the STORY, Sawyer's story, about moving across the country for a new start, coming out of his shell, was lost in all that, very well written and delivered, sex.
And if I say there is too much sex, you gotta know there is a lot!
All four guys do get a say, and I did finish it in one sitting. Enjoyable enough for that so

love it
i like to watch this while im at the gym because it just so good that while it is on i can forget about how tried i am. the show manages to strike a balance between being comedic and serious.
the show does not fall to the common challenge of most comedies to not have stupid comedy in there. you know the one right? the kind that makes you cringe.
well I'm very glad to say you'll find none of that here.
you should definitely watch this I've yet to find someone who doesn't like it so give it a go even if your not a typical police show fan or a fan of comedy's because this show really is much more than that.

Never a dull moment
So, Harry has an apprentice and his life has been fairly quiet otherwise but a favour he owes to a powerful immortal is being called in.
I'm biased, I've said that in other reviews of Jim Butcher books, but even with my rose-tinted glasses on I can honestly say that each Dresden novel makes my heart beat a little faster upon reading that first page. I know I'm in for a treat. Sometimes the good guys get hurt, and badly, and Jim Butcher has made you invest in these characters so their pain hurts you a little.
I cannot recommend highly enough the novels of Jim Butcher.

Such a cute version of the game we all used to love!
Ever since it came out this past fall, I have always loved playing this game! It's just so cute and innocent and is a very good way to relieve stress. I really have nothing bad to say about it- I love how there is always something to work towards, always a new task, etc. This app is very well put together and successfully brought back all of the nostalgia from the old Nintendo DS game!

Ridiculous
I was expecting a proper horror film, or at least something vaguely scary, but this was nothing of the sort. The best I can say is that the odd part was creepy, but even those were verging on laughable. The whole plot is just silly and they could've done so much better in making it scarier. It may be classed more of a thriller, but to me it just wasn't what I was expecting. Some of the script is cheesy and so predictable, and the ending was just a bit of a letdown. Its a shame really as Lauren Cohan and Rupert Evans do fairly well and they're both very watchable, they just aren't given decent material to work with.

Wonder had me gripped from the first five minutes. The story is emotionally touching from the very first scene. I personally absolutely love how they portrayed every character in first person with their own aspect of the story, while not jumping around and making the story hard to understand. It also somewhat forces the viewer to understand the emotions felt by each character, because of their place in the family, and family situation. Without spoiling the film, I can say personally it is easy to feel for other characters than the youngest child.
All in all the film flows well, has an incredibly touching story to which many I feel could possibly learn from.
