Good jump scares. (1 more)
Did sleep with the light on.
Does it live up to the hype?
After two years eagerly anticipating the release of this film, (I am a clown hater, but love to be scared) I took myself off to the cinema on opening night (of course) I admit, that in the dark theatre, pennywise' cartooney giggle, was scary, so much so, everybody in the cinema watched me instead of the film! I may be very unpopular with the next bombshell....it didn't live up to the original, and certainly not the book. It was too over-hyped, too Hollywood, and too glossy. If this was a free standing, one of a kind film, I'd have enjoyed it for what it was, but it was not good enough to replace the Tim curry clown I saw when I was 12, and still makes me cry at clown masks on Halloween.

This guy ain't clowning around...
Clown is like a classic twilight-zone style curse movie, where a dad puts on an antique clown suit, which turns out to have dire consequences that essentially turn him into a child eating killer clown.
There are some great comedic moments, as you would expect, some gross body horror, gruesome kills and actually pretty good performances.
Despite the b-movie plot, the acting is very solid, and the whole feel is of a well-made, well budgeted horror film, that would not have been out of place on a decent cinema release.
There are plenty of plot holes, bad decisions and parts that drag on a little, but overall this is a pretty entertaining movie, which provides a throwback experience to an 80's style slasher but with modern production values, so what is not to like?

Ugh, this volume was hard to get through. This event involves the whole Bat-fam, and the Joker. The Joker has always really creeped me out, the clown face paint, and overall demented behavior. Of course, whenever Joker's involved, death's on the menu and it was hard to read.

I re-watched this movie yesterday evening in preparation for the release of the sequel this coming Friday. I'm not a huge scary movie/zombie movie fan, but I do make an exception for zom-coms.
Columbus' rules are hilarious, and I love the way they're featured in the film. But, the best part of this film is the amount of quotable lines throughout. Nut up or shut up is one of the best. I'm also afraid of clowns, so the whole clown scene and 'F*ck this clown' was my favorite part.
The Bill Murray scenes are some of my favorites as well.
Does this movie need a sequel? No, definitely not, BUT I'll still go see it (now I'm part of the problem).

No real story
Well this is so low budget you would think this could have been made by anyone who thought let's make a horror film. It's a real let down with almost no story or dialogue that has any meaning. Just gory kills but the effects make them look silly rather than scary. At least the clown does look creepy.
Michael Moore recommended Joker (2019) in Movies (curated)
King is the master of phantasmagorical horror and his sales verify his number one place amongst authors of the genre. This is the story of a group of youngsters who each have an encounter with Pennywise the Clown, an evil, malevolent being that feeds on the fears of children. Their friendship pact brings them together thirty years later to confront their demons and end their battle with ‘IT’. A great read.

Some movies are ment to not be a remake
Now don't get me wrong it was a ok movie. But the kind of movie you can watch Once, it struggles to hold my down. The clown was amazing and the actor done an amazing job but the movie was lacking something which I'm not sure what. I wouldn't recommend it. I think the hype was too big for this kind of movie.
