Co-operative 3-7 players (3 more)
Possibility of a traitor
Defend the kingdom
Jump in/Drop out mechanic
Emerge from the shadows
Shadows over Camelot is a Co-operative game built around king Arthur and his knights of the round table. You as one of Arthur's trusted guards or maybe even arthur himself. You defend the kingdom, find excalibur, discover the holy grail and Lancelot's armor, and maybe fight a dragon or two. Also watch out for a traitor. One of you might not be as noble as they seem. Plan on more than an hour for your first game.

Co-operative puzzle fun
I am not a fan of real-time games. My daughter however loves this logic puzzle real-time game. So she asks to play it quite a bit. It is a co-operative game where you fulfill cupcake orders together. Well you match the cupcake liners anyway. It is a very cute game, the colors are distinct enough we haven't gotten them mixed up. This may not be a color-blind friendly game, but the cupcake liners are different sizes as well, so that may be enough to make a difference. Overall, there is not much to dislike, but everyone has differing tastes. For our family this one will stick around.
Steph (468 KP) rated Eldritch Horror in Tabletop Games

One of my all-time favorites!
Eldritch Horror is a difficult, horror-themed, co-operative board game. You and your fellow teammates play as characters with different abilities and, together, you are trying to stop an elder monster from awakening and destroying the world. If you'd played Arkham Horror, Eldritch is a streamlined version of it. There are TONS of expansions (I have all of them) that really add to the game through different characters, mechanics, bad guys, etc.
I wouldn't say this game was friendly to people who don't usually play board games because of all of the different rules and elements, though because of it's co-operative nature, it's not too hard to teach to people who do usually play board games.
This game has GREAT re-playability. It scales fairly well for different numbers of players, but does not play as well with odd numbers (the difficulty is the same as the even number one higher, but you have fewer turns). Because it's co-operative, you can have some players control more than one character. This is what we usually do if we play with odd numbers. It's challenging to do this, though, if everyone is new to the game.

Great use of QR codes (3 more)
Perfect integration of old and new - VR technology with a board game
Co-operative deductive game
Engaging stories!
Chronicles of Crime by Lucky Duck Games is an amazing co-operative game that incorporates QR codes, to be scanned by a mobile phone, VR technology to see crime scenes in 3D, and a board with locations. Therefore this game not only marries technology with traditional gaming, but does this without being tacky or a gimmick! Originally this game was launched via Kickstarter, but I believe this will have hit general release with a few expansions already. The stories are engaging and the game very enjoyable. I must say, the crime scenes are quite sobering and grim, therefore not for children but an amazing experience for adults. The way the game is structured, Lucky Duck can continue to publish new cases, using the characters and locations on the boards you already have, resulting in a potential for continued play beyond the stories contained in the box. I thoroughly recommend this game at a player count of 2-3...more than this, I think it may become a little boring for additional players.
Charlotte (184 KP) rated Mockingbird's Cry (Hera Force #1) in Books
Oct 26, 2021
Powerful thriller
Mockingbird's Cry is full of suspense, intrigue and romance, which makes a good all around read. There's plenty of action to keep you entertained.
Jo, an ex-member of Hera Force (all-female black ops group) is pulled back into the military life (that was ruined by a failed mission) working with Lincoln.... gorgeous, ex co-operative and lover from many moons ago!
Both are strong and capable, you'd need to be with all the twists, turns and lies that keep getting in their way personally and professionally.
The way that the two characters interact is well written and I really feel for them. I love how resilient Jo is.

Benedick Lewis (3001 KP) rated Thanos Rising: Avengers Infinity War in Tabletop Games
Jul 24, 2020 (Updated Jul 24, 2020)
Great co-op game (2 more)
Dice build game
Feel powerful against Thanos
Can be a bit repetitive (2 more)
Doesn’t feature everyone in the MCU
No expansion packs
Feels like Endgame finale when you win
Thanos Rising is unexpectedly a very likeable game. It appears complicated initially but once you learnt the core basics, there’s not that much more to it to really get into the game. Multiple sessions have provided various outcomes from near to death to colossal victory and there’s no short cut to win strategy. It’s essentially down to the roll of the dice. And then you have to make a decision: build your team and get power ups or stop the Thanos henchmen from killing off potential team members. Sometimes it is clear cut, others not so much. Which is why it is important it is co operative.
It’s not without its flaws: it can get repetitive after a while and eventually playing it on difficult is the only way to play to make things interesting but it does provide a great night entertainment.

Sarah (7798 KP) rated the PlayStation 4 version of A Way Out in Video Games
Apr 28, 2018
Doesn't live up to its potential
A game designed entirely with co-op play is a rarity now, so A Way Out is a refreshing change. Its just a shame that the gameplay itself isn't as promising as the concept.
Graphics wise it's very good and the scenery is very well done. The whole concept of the game with split screen co-op gameplay is fantastic, and having to work together with another player is a fun idea. The problem with this game is it just doesn't live up to it's potential. There are far too many cut scenes throughout the entire game and this gets very boring after a while. The co-operative gameplay although fun, seems very basic and repetitive after a while. I feel like they couldve done so much more. There's also the fact that this gives you the ability to explore a location, but other than playing random games, conversing with the locals doesn't appear to add any benefit or link in to your storyline whatsoever. This game is also very short, and despite my above criticisms, I could've played it for a lot longer!
This had a lot of potential but was sadly a bit of a let down. If they improved the game play options and made the interactions a little more similar to something like Until Dawn, it would be much better.
