This series has really stepped up now, I am so excited to read the next one it seems like it will be epic.

I loved this installment, the characters were great as was the coming of age angst and final battle. The valgs and continued mystery to the whole plot were really great and pretty scary.

My only criticism is the relationship between Celeana and Rowan, who is suddenly forgiven without much of a lash back from Celeana, which to me goes against her character. I also found the blood oath bit repetitive.

King at his finest
Epic, multi character novels are what Stephen King does best and It is a fantastic example. The characters are all well written, well developed, flawed but all loveable in their own ways. The plot itself is a mix between a coming of age and a horror story, and keeps you reading throughout this 900 page + novel. The finale does get a bit too bonkers in parts and there are a few aspects of the story that are a little unnecessary, but it's a sign of a great book when you get to the end and feel so sad that it's over.

A nice coming of age film

An Australian film based in a large department store, mainly the ladies department and the staff who work there. The main story is about a sixteen year old girl who has got a Christmas job working there (mind you it is strange because the film is based around Christmas and yet it is not, they are all on the beach and they keep calling it summer. Anyway back to the film the main character is a 16 year old girl who blossoms throughout the film from help from other members of staff. Enjoyable and a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

"Another film that always floats around in my top five would be a film by Lasse Hallstrom called My Life as a Dog, which is not such a well known film but it was probably the one that brought him most to prominence. It’s a coming-of-age story, really, of a young boy with a very sick mum, you know, trying to find their way in the world, a young child finding their own way in the world, and seeing the exploration of space as a metaphor for their own dreams and adventures. I just think it’s a very poignant and evocative film that’s stayed with me for many years."
