There weren’t many that I actually enjoyed reading if I’m completely honest. Loved Adam Nevill’s short but this is one I’ve read a few times. These are great for finding authors I have a few on my tbr list now. Overall it was very average.

Brilliant horror/fantasy/thriller.
Cast works well, story is gripping. Love all the references to my childhood! Demigoron actually made me jump!
Very much tapped into Stephen King’s realms with the story & progression

A Decent Introduction to Amy Cross
This was the book that got me into Amy Cross, despite not being a fan of horror in general. Since reading this, I now have over a dozen of her books. She made a unique combination of the fantasy and horror genres with this book. One of her stranger books, but a good read over all.

As Halloween nears, here's a selection of top scares from 2016.

The competition was fierce, and the line between horror and dark fantasy may be blurred. So did your picks make the list?

Not only did genre fans see new books from established heavy hitters, they welcomed a grandmaster’s novel back into print after 52 years in 2016. Here's Barnes and Noble's selection:

I loved how wacky this book was, balancing a mix of horror and surreal fantasy in a way that kept me moving through the pages. Unlike anything I've ever read, with a quad of narrators, deep philosophy, and the stitching together of Science Fiction and Fantasy in a delightfully horrific way.

Hands down LOVED it.
