Erika (17788 KP) rated Loving Vincent (2017) in Movies

This film is absolutely beautiful, the animation was so cool, and so well done. It's worth seeing for the beautiful animation alone. Van Gogh is one of my favorite artists, and it's fitting that a year ago today, I was in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. The story was excellent and engaging. I can't say enough wonderful things about this. I can't wait to go see it again.
The only thing that was off was the song at the end... It just didn't fit.

Melja Gregory (2 KP) rated Fool Moon (The Dresden Files, #2) in Books
Jan 5, 2018
Good character building (1 more)
Good enhancement of world
Good building on a world of magic
A good second book in the series that would become my favorite. Jim is still trying a bit in this to find his voice, and the writing will develop more fully in the next couple of books, but still a solid addition to the series. Dresden is a very human and relatable hero, but with a wonderfully crafty mind and hilarious self-depreciating sense of humor.
Alicia S (193 KP) rated Outlander - Season 1 in TV

Love, Love, Love
This show gets more and more beautiful with each season. Jamie and Claire have a such an incredible bond that Im constantly in tears watching. Every character is memorable and they manage to pull off many graphic yet important topics. Might just be my favorite show on television, ever. Can't get the husband into it though so my Outlander time has been my own private time :) Time travel, passion, love, heartache, loss, war, there are no words to properly sum up this incredible show.

Okay so the series is great as usal but the final episode is what makes me give this season 10 stars. If you haven't worked out now i like when characters dies and oh boy where there deaths in this series. I'm sad because Tyrell my favorite house but then the queen of thorns continues to live so I'm happy.
Ayra transformation is finally complete and what a way to do it.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Until We End in Books
Jan 12, 2018
[Until We End] is a post-apocalyptic novel that takes a sinister twist. As people all over the world die from a strange disease Cora and Coby hide at home as their dad told them. They believe they may be the only ones left but they were wrong.
[Frankie Brown] adds to the ever popular genre of YA post-apocalyptic fiction. Unlike others I feel you can never have too much of a good thing and this genre has always been a favorite. Keep them coming.

Alison Pink (7 KP) rated The King's Deception (Cotton Malone, #8) in Books
Jan 15, 2018
As usual Steve Berry does not disappoint!! Cotton Malone is one of my very favorite fictional characters & just like the man who thought him up, he never lets the reader down either.
This installment deals with Henry VIII & a supposed secret he passed on while on his deathbed, a secret that if proven true could decimate the English monarchy as we know it. Along with plunging them back into a bloody battle over Northern Ireland. Elizabeth I a man? How could you not be intrigued!?

Li Hughes (285 KP) rated The Winter Sea (Slains #1) in Books
Aug 9, 2017
The lyrical writing style: an occasional overblown misstep but overall very good (1 more)
The obvious research and detail
The intertwined story device: not my favorite (1 more)
Some weak story devices and characterization
This book draws obvious parallels with Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series, so I was initially skeptical and expected to put it down almost immediately. But beyond the basic framework of the story, everything else about The Winter Sea stands very well on its own. It's not without its weak points, but overall this was a very enjoyable read.

Liliannar (58 KP) rated Homeland (Forgotten Realms: The Dark Elf Trilogy, #1; Legend of Drizzt, #1) in Books
May 25, 2018
Great character depth (1 more)
Strong world building
Phenomenal
This book saved my life. Though this wasn't the first book published in the series, it's where the story truly begins. For fans of Drizz't Do'Urden who haven't started with this book, it's the best place to get to know our favorite Dark Elf. This book explores his childhood starting with the day of his birth and moving through everything that made him leave his home and take the first steps on what becomes an amazing journey.

My absolute favorite
Aaaahhhh this is just one of those that I just was not expecting I'm really not someone who watches loads of war movies but I'll try anything once and boy was I glad I did. The movie is amazing it really is special even in the catagory of war films. The fact that it's based of a true story makes it even better as it appeals to the history loving part of me.
