Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2346 KP) rated Space Case (Moon Base Alpha #1) in Books

This is a great combination of mystery and science fiction. The setting is realistically done and really adds to the story. The target middle grade audience will love the characters and the humor. Personally, I never saw the ending coming. I can’t wait for the sequel.

This ended up being quite a difficult read for me as I found it very slow paced, there was so much build up to pretty much nothing in my opinion.
I found each character quite annoying and fairly dim to be honest as who really buys a property without seeing half of it? Not a lot of the storyline made a lot of sense and there were quite a few errors in the writing which was pretty distracting.
It wasn't all bad as there were a couple of chilling scenes but unfortunately they were very short lived, I wanted more scenes like that.
The idea for the story is indeed very original but in my opinion isn't very well executed.
Nevermind...

Lewis John Hatchett (23 KP) rated Men in Black International (2019) in Movies
Jun 20, 2019
However after rewatching the original trilogy I found that the film didn't have the same weirdness that the originals had. I remember watching the first and being terrified (even for being a PG film) where as this new iteration focused more or the comedy between Hemsworth and Thompson than the aliens that made the originals so interesting.
Overall it was a fun filled film that would be worth a watch.

Kim Pook (101 KP) rated Before I Fall (2017) in Movies

I found the movie OK, I would guess that the writer of this movie must have been a fan of groundhog day. The repeating the same day idea is the only thing that resembles that movie though as this does have its own storyline, you start to feel just as frustrated as the main character as even think of what she should be doing to rectify this and then get annoyed when she doesn't. I found the ending very disappointing indeed.
