this was a good read, I found it a bit slow in the middle but other than that it was good. the story line and characters were well written and the ending fantastic. I loved how each chapter was a different character it made the story flow, I will be defiantly reading more by this author

David McK (3372 KP) rated Grave Peril (The Dresden Files, #3) in Books
May 26, 2019
Third entry in Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series, and maybe I was beginning to burn out as I had read the first three books back-to-back in the course of about a week, but I found this one to be slower moving, more graphic and heavier going than either of the two previous novels.
Of the first three books, this is by far the weakest.

Peter G. (247 KP) rated Elysium (2013) in Movies
Jun 5, 2019
Still not sure about this one, the Sci-fi is sound and action is plentiful, however Jodie foster I found to be a poor baddie and punching above her weight, Sharlto Copley actually saves this one from petrol station reduced bin mediocraty for me, Neill Blomkamp's direction is razor sharp and in keeping with his usual style, not one I return to rewatch often.
Sarah Samson (2 KP) rated Why Mummy Swears in Books

So true
Sequel to why mummy swears. It's like the author has been into my house and wrote the book on my family. Not that I swear that much. I found it really easy to get into and it was hard to put down, I just kept thinking 1 more chapter.

Rey and Kylo Ren facing off again (1 more)
Return to showing hope in a dark spot.
A new New Hope
While there are many complaints of the handling of the Jedi path, I found this volume in the STAR WARS saga to be extremely fun, full of the hope the original trilogy inspired, and a lovely way to introduce more characters to root for.
Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2165 KP) rated Crewel World (A Needlecraft Mystery, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Betsy is trying to get her life back in order and visits her sister. Then her sister is killed. What happened? I'm not a needlework guy, and I'm sure that was part of my problem with this book. But mostly, I found the pacing pretty uneven.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2165 KP) rated Murder in the Marais (Aimee Leduc Investigations, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When Aimee Leduc takes a decoded picture to a client in the Jewish quarter of Paris, she finds the woman dead and things quickly unravel from there. Honestly, I found the book too busy, which left not enough time to wrap everything up in the end.
