Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino by Arctic Monkeys

When it came to thus album I felt like there were really two groups when it came to Arctic Monkey fans... You have the AM fans who just wanted another AM album and you have the Arctic Monkey fans who knew that this album was going to be different and were ready for it... I was firmly in the ready for something new and I was not disappointed. Yes this album really channeled a more Bowie-esque sound and I will admit to tearing up while giving it the first listen through but at its heart this was a Arctic Moneky album and like their other albums I loved it. Also hearing Four Out of Five live made me dog the album even more.

Amazing, instant classic
Let it be known I am a huge comic fan. I love the fact these movies are being reinvented and reimagined. The Avengers has left nothing to imagination, a brilliant way to introduce so many characters and giving so many ways for the industry to veer off in to.

The performances by the actors is phenomenal along with the visual effects.

The only downside is that I found the middle of the film a little drab, it seemed to take a little longer than I would of liked and slowed everything down a little much. The visual effects were brilliant however I just wish the storyline throughout the middle matched these ratings.

When a bank repossessed all the buildings in Caerphilly, the town clerk boarded himself in the town hall basement. Now Meg, her family, and the rest of the town are smuggling supplies to him. But when a body turns up just outside his barricade, the jig may be up. Can Meg find the killer without giving away the secret? I love these characters, and I will never complaint about spending time with them. However, I felt the plot could have used more twists or something. And these books have lost some of their humor. Still, fans of the series will enjoy this one.

Netflix is killing it
I absolutely loved this movie. It featured a great main character trying to find her place in the world. I have really enjoyed this trend I've noticed lately where young female characters find there confidence. It's a nice change from the classic handsome boy shows up and solves all the problems.
The supporting characters were also great, and helped add to the comedy of the movie. Each one was extremely unique, and they all truly added something to the story.
The only reason I am giving this movie a 9 and not a 10 is because, in a few places it was hard to tell what the actors were saying. Other than that it was great, and I would highly recommend.

A young woman about to marry her lover, an ex-wife obsessed by her successor, or is everything not quite as it seems? The blurb does warn readers not to make assumptions and it also does a clever job of not giving anything away. This collaboration has produced a taught psychological thriller that has already seen the film rights being snapped up by Steven Spielberg. It’s a slow, absorbing read for the first part but then it turns like a tornado. You will get drawn into a marriage, the compromises, the cover ups and the condescension that can evolve over time. Don’t try to assume anything. Just read and enjoy this (in your own head) before you see the movie.

Death Note Netflix Live Action
Death Note is originally an anime created by Tsugumi Ohba from 2003 to 2006.
If I haven’t watched the anime (which I did, years ago Netflix published the live action) I would have given this film a 6.
I love Netflix and I’m a big fan of a lot of Netflix originals but this one could be way better.
Since I watched the anime, it was painfully horrendous to watch the film.
Netflix basically followed the introduction of the anime and made a whole new thing out of it giving it the same name.

Finished by Richard Preston, this is the novel that Michael Crichton was working on at the time of his death in 2008.

I have to say that, of late, I have actually been disappointed by most of Crichton's more recent novels, with the possible exception of Prey. Unfortunately, I was also pretty disappointed by this: I felt that I was never really engaged with any of the characters, so their plight never really had any impact on me - without giving too much away, and in a pretty superficial sense, I think this novel could be pretty much described as The Borrowers, set in nature.

For me, Jurassic Park (by far) still remains Crichton's seminal work.

From looking at the poster and trailer, I wasn't sure whether Carnival Row would be 'up my street'. However, after the first episode I was gripped. One of the main things I look out for in any TV show or film is the sincerity of the acting. Cara Delevigne shone for me. I was pleasantly surprised by her as I have only known her as a model. Orlando Bloom also showed great talent, as always. If you like crime and fantasy, this is the perfect blend of both worlds, and I would highly recommend giving it a go. It deserves all the praise it has received. I am very much looking forward to the second season.

Finally a film about the struggles of modern families.

Love this film, so funny and entertaining however it makes me cringe so much at some points which put me off giving it a higher rating. When people are competing the way they are and sabotaging eachother, to an extent it is funny but I think this movie goes a bit too far for my liking.
Mark Wahlberg is just so sexy in this, if you watch something like Ted where he's quite an everyday looking guy but in this he's just oozes sexy.
Ladies, he has a topless scene. You're welcome.

Hmmm … that was a weird one.

Ever since Bruce Willis doing the voice of the baby in 'Looks who's talking' I kind of feel that a load of Hollywood actors have wanted to get in the same gig: enter Alec Baldwin in this.

Made mostly for kids, this lacks the sophistication of a Pixar movie (which also has stuff to keep the adults amused), and is pretty much what it says on the tin (and poster): a be-suited baby giving orders to his older (and jealous) sibling while trying to stop the evil plans of the CEO of a Puppy corporation where his parents work.

You can see from the off right where this is going, and how it is going to end up ...
