I'm not entirely sure why I downloaded this truthfully. I read the first volume and there were maybe two books out of the five that I wouldn't have minded reading as a full book but then I checked out the prices and decided not to because I'm a tight arse where books are concerned and will only pay if I really want to read them. And I've read enough Mills & Boon/Harlequin books in my life to not really want to.

In this I think that there was only one that I would want to read as a full book and if I can figure out which one it is and check out the price, I'm sure it'll be the same thing...

Nevertheless they have nice artwork.

I'm not going to download any more of these free previews.

So this was my first ever comic on kindle and I have to admit it's completely different to normal. I used to really like reading my Mills & Boon/Silhouette/Harlequin books when I was younger so the chance to read them with pictures? I thought I'd give it a try and I think I enjoyed it more than I would have done just the stories. The skill of the artists to show the emotions of the characters is amazing.

The only thing I didn't like so much was how I was just really getting into the stories and they'd end and the preview for the next book would start. There were admittedly a few that I wouldn't have minded reading the full length versions of but the prices have put me off for a bit. Maybe at Christmas when I get my Amazon Gift Card :D

I read this years ago but didn't realize at the time that it was a duet and had a cliff-hanger ending, so I was left bereft. So being in an Egyptology kick lately, and now having the concluding book, I decided to give it a go while waiting for the third Amelia Peabody mystery to come in at the library (which is coincidentally called The Mummy Case).

While The Mummy Case as a whole is highly improbable, it has a certain charm and was a cute read. Even though it is a Harlequin book, I liked that it dealt less with the romance and more with the mystery, probably because it is part of a duo. I've read Dawn Stewardson books before and have been impressed with how well she can develop the plot and characters in so few pages. I look forward to reading the completion the Voice of the Nile. ;P
