"A romance between a beat up, tired, old, raggedy-ass drunkard hanging on by a thread and one last hurrah. There’s a theme in the film that I love. To see the two of them [Humphrey Bogart and Kathryn Hepburn], the chemistry was so magical. It was so easy and fun. They were having so much fun. Clearly. It was like watching a tennis match between two of the best players of all time. Just effortless. And they tell this phenomenal story. I’m a sucker for those. [Hepburn] had a similar chemistry with lots of people, with Spencer Tracy in the Pat and Mike film, it was just sparkle and fun. Going back and forth between her and Bogie and they let Bogie play this guy, this stumbling bumbling [does impression “Well, Ma’am”] which was great, he just went there. John Huston did a brilliant job with that thing."

"With blues records, it's hard to know which song is on which album, but the era of Fleetwood Mac when they did 'Fighting For Madge' and 'The Green Manalishi With The Two-Pronged Crown' is the ultimate band. They were so tight: Danny Kirwan, Jeremy Spencer, Peter Green - wow. This was unbelievable. The way they played together was something else - the original Fleetwood Mac, before the females got involved, that was the stuff. I'm glad for you that you like Rumours. [He turns deeply sarcastic]. I'm thrilled for you. It makes me happy. I've never been more happy. The very first tour with Nicks and Buckingham, we played a show with them in Wisconsin. After our show, we said: "Thanks for letting us play. Here are some shirts for you guys." And John McVie threw us out of the dressing room: "Are you calling my wife a cheap trick?" My manager and I wanted him to apologise to us. It had nothing to do with calling his wife a cheap trick. Give me a break. How drunk was he? Years later he apologised."

Blazing Minds (92 KP) rated Baby Driver (2017) in Movies

Baby Driver (2017)
Baby Driver (2017)
2017 | Action, Comedy
Baby Driver tells the story of a “Baby“, after being coerced into working for a crime boss, the young getaway driver finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail.

From Edgar Wright, the director of Hot Fuzz, comes a movie that has mixed an all-out action movie with breathtaking car chases, humour and one hell of a soundtrack that is beautifully edited into the scenes of the movie to create something that is not only a pleasure to watch but also has your heart thumping and your toes tapping.

Right from the very start of Baby Driver the film lifts you up, as Baby and the crew stop to do a heist, Baby stays in the car ready for the getaway, he selects Bellbottoms by The John Spencer Blues Experience and sings along and drops some moves in the car, with a great track to start the film with and Baby (Ansel Elgort) showing that this movie is going to rock, how could we not look forward to more.

Fantastic visuals
Compelling
Director Joon-ho Bong brings us his vision of a post-apocalyptic world where most of humanity has been destroyed and the remaining humans are left to circle the globe in a relentless train called the Snowpiercer.

The cast is led by Chris Evans, but also features Kang-ho Song, Ed Harris, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton, Octavia Spencer and Jamie Bell.

Humanity has evolved similar to what I have read about the Titanic, meaning, the lower classes at the back of the train suffering to survive and the upper classes more forward living in luxury.

There is an uprising within the squalor and the inhabitants attempt to ascertain their situation by taking the cars ahead one-by-one. The story is very interesting and the people and situations the rebels meet along their way to the engine keep you surprised.

The engine also contains an interesting character who is eluded to within the beginning of the film.

The ending was somewhat controversial when the movie was first released; however, I find it more than satisfactory to tie up the story.

Check it out for yourself.
