**BOOK SYNOPSIS**
In 2006, the author's brother, Steve Sirois, was sentenced to serve 35 years in a Texas prison for a horrendous crime, aggravated sexual assault of a child -- a crime Steve swore he didn't commit. After the conviction, Michael started helping Steve write his appeals, but what he saw in the trial transcripts made him question how a jury could have convicted his brother based on that testimony.

Steve's accuser originally gave vague dates for the crime but soon abandoned those dates and even replaced the details of her claims with new ones. There was no forensic evidence, no DNA, no physical evidence of any kind: nothing but his accuser's words. The author wondered if he could prove that her accusations were false. But how?

Using affidavits, court transcripts, and interviews, along with additional evidence from public information requests and other factual data, the book lays out a devastating portrait of an untruthful accuser, an overzealous prosecutor, a jury that made a deal to swap votes in order to gain a conviction, and the series of lies that led to that outcome.

New app so there are a lot of bugs (0 more)
Well, Disney+ is finally here. The app is sufficient for now. I didn't expect it to be perfect, new apps never are. My main issue is that nothing is consistent between different devices. Like, the profile pictures and whatnot. The app also crashes, which is kind of annoying, but expected.
Now, the content. Yes, it boasts new, exclusive shows, and Endgame. The National Geographic selection isn't great. Also, for me, the jury is still out on The Mandalorian. It's hard to judge if a show is good or not based upon two 30-ish minute eps.

@Amy Wolfs I would wait until they get the kinks worked out. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later.

My husband read this book before me, so it must be good. I can't remember the last time he read a book.

The story is of a low case laywer, who is given the opportunity to defend a high class celebrity who is on trial for killing his wife.

This easy book chapters swap between the laywer and the killer, who has managed to wiggle himself onto the jury stand and is influencing everyone's decisions.

I enjoyed following the court case through the killer and saviours eyes and each little decision has a knock on affect to their opponent.
