A big movie with big sound.

Pompeii stars Kit Harington (Milo), Emily
Browning (Cassia), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Atticus), and Keifer Sutherland
(Corvus).

The soundtrack added a lot to the feeling of “rallying for the
good guys.”

The casting was well thought out & characters well
played, especially Cassia & Milo.

Sutherland made it easy to hate his
character Corvus, while Harington and Akinnuoye-Agbaje create a bond and
brotherhood that made me hold my breath in hopes that they survived their
trials.

The special effects were awesome and there was at least one time
that I even ducked in my chair from the falling debris!

While the premise
of this movie is well known, the plot gave it a smooth, easy to watch story that
kept me engaged the whole time.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been in a
movie theatre that had cheering at the end….even with such an unexpected ending,
but this one had people clapping all around me.

Thumbs up for this
one!

A dark, sad story
Testament of Youth is one of those films that isn’t terrible, but it’s brilliant either. It’s just a good solid film. It has a great cast, especially Alicia Vikander, all of whom put on very good performances. It’s very strange to see Kit Harington in something other than Game of Thrones, and it takes a while to get used to this but he does very well. The script is good and the story itself is pretty sad and harrowing. Kind of what you’d expect with a romantic film based around the First World War, but it was still quite saddening and painful to watch. An all round good and intriguing film to watch.

Interesting but over dramatized
Everyone has heard of Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot, but how many can say they've heard of Robert Catesby? I hadn't, at least not until watching this, so I've learnt something new!

There are some good performances here from some great actors. I feel sorry for Kit Harington in this though, as although he does well, i dont feel he'll ever get away from being Jon Snow.

The main problem with this is that it is over dramatized. It's a very interesting story and a lot of this I don't recall ever being taught. I've heard that parts of it are fairly faithful to history, but sadly it's very obvious that it has been over dramatized, as there's no way of knowing that all of this actually happened. It's a shame really, I just wish people wouldn't meddle with history!
