Since the Matrix, this is one of the first live action VR/AR movies to be made. And very well made it has been. While clearly needing to use a heck of a lot of green screen and digital editing, it is done almost masterfully so that you can tell that it is there, which is not something that can be said for other heavily digitised movies.

This movie incorporates the idea of VR and AR wonderfully, although it leans more towards VR than AR. I enjoyed the many aspects of movie even from my own home.

It shows characters and ideas from such a wide variety of franchises yet the unique design style of the movie makes so that none of them look out of place. This is shown particularly well in the final battle where you can definitely see The Iron Giant fighting along side one of THE original Mobile Suit G.U.N.D.A.M.

Overall, I think that this was a well thought out movie that could potentially be the start of the new VR/AR theme movies and series.

Confused
Let's face it, any film released nowadays with Liam Neeson as the main character is likely to be very similar to everything else he's done recently and also pretty poor. And sadly Cold Pursuit is no different.

The plot isn't anything new. It's Liam Neeson getting revenge on people again. Admittedly the setting and scenery are beautiful, it's just a shame the rest of the film can't live up to it I found the entire film very confused and wasn't entirely sure if it was meant to be a thriller, an action or a black comedy - it had aspects of all three and sadly not all of them worked, especially the humour. It was all a bit weird. And I adore Tom Bateman but his American accent in this is far too odd and I cringed every time he was on screen. And then there's the wasted Laura Dern and the pointless cops.

This is vaguely entertaining, but it dips in the middle and sadly suffers from a few acting faults and confusion on what genre it seems to lie in.

"I love Time Bandits, and it obviously fits into the kids’-adventure-fantasy stuff that I’m into. The Adventures of Baron Munchausen was actually the first film I ever saw in a theater when I was eight years old, and I was euphoric. After that I rented every Terry Gilliam movie. In Time Bandits, he mixes animation and live action, which is an important aesthetic element in the movies I make. When I was twenty I had a short at the London Film Festival, and I was there with my friend so we were traveling from party to party, drinking and eating, because we didn’t have any money. At one party we saw Terry Gilliam, and I started talking to this woman about seeing Baron Munchausen and how it made me want to make movies, and she said, “Well, my husband is Terry Gilliam, you should go say hello to him.” So I went over to him and said, “I just need you to know that I’m here because you made me want to make movies,” and he said, “I’m so sorry.”"
