When I first saw the previews for this movie, I was sold. I like different takes on Dracula, and I thought the backstory they built was really cool. I was kind of sad when it didn't do well, and it'll probably never get a sequel. I loved Luke Evans as Dracula, and if Universal had decided not to can Dark Universe, I'd have hoped they'd have opted to bring him back.

The original beauty and the beast is my favourite Disney film ever so this was a treat to see it in love action. It didn't disappoint though I couldn't warm to Emma Watson as Belle or the reimagined look of my fav characters like Mrs Potts or lumiere. But Luke Evans was outstanding as Gaston and the back story of Belle's mum was very touching.

Life in a high-rise tower falls into chaos after frequent power outages create a clash between the classes. The film was based upon the book by the same name by JG Ballard. There were obvious differences from book to movie, but the changes made sense. Tom Hiddleston did a good job as Laing, and Luke Evans was savage as Wilder. The score of the film set the perfect tone, and Portishead's cover of SOS was on point.

Dracula Untold came out around the same time that Game of Thrones was beginning to take off, which would explain why the whole film feels like a poor man's GoT and why it has half of it's cast involved. It only held my interest due to the subject matter of Dracula himself. Luke Evans is a decent enough lead, and this take on Dracula's origin story is engaging to a degree, but underneath the stylish vampire visuals, it's just another sword wielding war film.

Entertaining while watching, completely forgettable afterwards.
This is your standard Cold War spy movie with a non-linear time line. I know this film was supposed to be released last year, but Lionsgate pushed it back because of allegations against Luc Beeson. The cast did zero promotional appearances, and I maybe saw the trailer twice.
I went because a) I like seeing women kick some ass and 2) Luke Evans and Cillian Murphy. I did truly find it engaging while I was watching it, it definitely held my attention. But then, a day later, I almost completely forgot about it. Which, is not a good thing. I even had it rated higher right after the movie.

Good ensemble cast drama
A weird drama currently on Amazon Prime with a big cast line up. Including Nicole Kidman, Luke Evans, Melissa McCarthy and Samara Weaving to name a few. They all go to a wellness centre in a remote location to deal with their various issues. Is everything as it seems as Marsham (Kidman) who leads the retreat hand picked this group for other reasons. Her unconventional methods start to panic the group.
A decent drama with so many good actors on show. I did feel there would be a bizarre twist out of left field totally unexpected. However it never quite goes that extreme.
OK for a short series to distract you for a while.
