Tracy Davis Stoyer (2 KP) rated Dorothy Must Die in Books

A great read for young adults!!
While this may drag in some places for adults, this is a great book for young adults. It’s very popular in our high school library. The students love following a modern day twist to the original Wizard of Oz. So popular we have a hard time keeping it on the shelf.
Movie Critics (823 KP) rated Everything, Everything (2017) in Movies
May 12, 2017
All in all, Everything Everything is a watered down modern day rehash of the Boy in the Plastic Bubble with a female lead. The film tries to be funny and dramatic yet fails to succeed at either.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Azure in Books
Jan 12, 2018
Society is perfect, or at least that is what the citizens of [Azure] are told daily. What they see and experience tells them otherwise. This futuristic novel is a modern day version of [1984]. The government wants to retain control and power so badly they are willing to sacrifice everyone. [Grant Palmquist] creates a eerie prospect of the future.

Respectful yet still new
This Sherlock Holmes variant is wonderful. The team that has created this series has truly respected the essence and artistry of the original stories of Holmes and Watson by Arthur Conan Doyle and yet found a way to make them fresh, approachable, and almost addicting, to the modern audience.
Bright and cheerful, this book is aimed at ladies of a certain age and is filled with words of advice in words and images. At times the images were all a little modern and didn't feel like they applied to me. A book that I am sure will find a market amongst women, just not for me.

The power of Christ compels you.
The Exorcist is one of those movies that no matter how you feel about you remember the first time you watched it.
While there have been a number of sequels and even more exorcism movies The Exorcist is the crowning achievement of the genre and still hold up against most modern horror movies.

This is a classic
This is a book that all people should read at least once in their life. It is one of the modern classics. Douglas Adams had well thought out story, and even after all these years there are still things about this book that are coming to light that make people smile and laugh.
Erika (17788 KP) rated The Battle of Algiers (1966) in Movies
Mar 25, 2018
I hadn't heard of this movie until I took a Decolonization of Africa history class at university. I have to admit, I kind of disliked that class, until we watched this movie.
The documentary style is fantastic, it's gritty and feels raw. The Battle of Algiers is a good example of now a familiar, modern warfare.
