"My buddy Cruz Angeles first turned me on to the films of Wong Kar-wai in my early years in New York City. In the Mood for Love is just flawless. The performance are restrained and yet so full of deep internal life. A glance, a gesture, carries so much weight. You can say so much with what you don’t say. The performances by Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung are wonderful. And the cinematography, the visual language of the film, is stunning."

This is a fairly decent disaster film. It's a nice change to see a film of this type set outside New York for a change! Some of the acting is pretty dour....the old guy playing a marine expert is especially bad, talking at the same pace and tone no matter what the scene. However the SFX in places are impressive and shots of a flooded London are believable. Overall it would have benefitted from a bigger budget, but it is still watchable.
