2026 film based on the novel of the same name, which largely focuses - as does the novel - on astronaut Ryland Grace, here portrayed by Ryan Gosling.
Yes, it takes liberties with the story.
Yes, it still stick remarkably true to the spirit of the book.
Worth a watch? Definitely.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
I dont know why I requested this novel. There is nothing in the description that would interest me in this novel. Honestly, I couldnt have cared less about the story itself. It didnt interest me at all. However, the characters were what got me. I loved them to distraction. They were overflowing with personality. Katie had strength and it was a joy to read her and Liam interact.
Overall the novel was a cute read but it is the characters that really make the story. While I wasnt impressed with the novel as a whole, I did like the dialogue and character interactions.

I really, really, really loved this novel. It is filled with geeky nostalgia. I couldn't help but let my inner geek squee when a movie, band, tv show etc. that I loved appeared.
The characters were really interesting and I quickly became invested in their success. I couldn't help but smile, tear up, or laugh when something happened in this novel.
All in all, this is a novel for geeks, and mostly 80's geeks. Unfortunately the only thing 80's about me is my birth year (89). Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. This is definitely a book that I will have to reread. I feel like there was so much that I missed.

This was a really cute novel. I have been a fan of David Levithan for quite some time. I however was nervous to read this novel. The name of it definitely through me off and made me unsure of it. I'm definitely glad that I picked it up.
The reason I didn't want to read this novel was because I felt that I wouldn't be able to relate to the characters. I love how David Levithan can write about gay characters and make it so everyone can relate to them no matter their sexual orientation. Too many novels feel the need to make their characters unreasonably "gay" and completely unrelatable. I'm glad that this novel was not like that.
The characters were charming, the writing was spectacular, and I found myself relating to many of the characters. This wasn't a life altering novel but it definitely was a good one.

Read this in one afternoon when I needed a break from an epically long classic novel. I highly recommend it.

Slightly disturbing, yet fascinating in true du Maurier style, her last novel and her final set in her beloved Cornwall.
