This is a book that chases the discovery of mermaids, but it is done in such a way that it doesnt feel far-fetched, you are left wondering if there truly is such a thing in the ocean. Loved this book!!

Airport '77 (1977)

Another airport disaster film, if I remember right this was interesting as it dealt with a plane that had crashed and was deep underwater in the ocean. Quite an intriguing film as they try to problem solve how to save the passengers.

This is a great podcast, and I can't wait for season two. It explores relationships and tension aboard an underwater research station in a believable and nuanced way. Also, the bottom of the ocean is scary af, especially when there's no way up.

There some moments of The Reef that are genuinely chilling, and plenty of tension is seved to go with them. Decent performances from the cast make the whole process believable, and the filmmakers do a good job of making the ocean feel vast and terrifying, whilst weirdly claustrophobic. It does suffer somewhat from repetition - The one dude that aggressively slaps his goggled face under the ocean surface every 2 minutes to check for the shark for instance - it's a neat trick that gets old pretty quickly. Overall though, The Reef has enough going for it to make it a perfectly watchable shark thriller.

Could spend hours sailing the ocean listening to sea shanties and even singing along to them. Besides that the base game and story line brilliant since big fan of pirates this game was right up my street

This is mostly about how it was dealing with how the Amish came to America. It really tells the story of what happens on a ocean crossing. To extent that it gives what it like when Amish and other were traveling to the New World for their freedom.

You do not go into it expecting what is to happen. It seem more historical then Amish. Though is mostly about Amish and how they come to America. Susanne tell a story about Anna and though she is with while crossing the ocean. She seem interested in the carpenter on the Charming Nancy? Who could that be?

Jaws (1975)
Jaws (1975)
1975 | Thriller

"Jaws was the first scary movie I ever saw. Even though I did hate it and it made me scared of sharks, it stuck with me. Every time it’s on, I do have to watch it. Especially now that you know the behind the scenes stuff. The shark didn’t work. So then it became a creative choice to just not show the shark until two-thirds in. It was freezing cold and these people had to be in the ocean. Then, the ocean was freezing so these people were freezing cold and raining and all of that kind of stuff. It just made it more movie magic for me."

"This was the present I gave everyone I knew for three years. It’s six different stories told in different time periods and genres: One is historical fiction, another is a ’70s thriller mystery, the sixth is a postapocalyptic story. It’s one of the most beautiful, entertaining, challenging books—something that takes all your attention. I think the stories are meditations on violence, specifically the necessity of violence. The book ends with a beautiful exchange: ‘…only as you gasp your dying breath shall you understand, your life amounted to no more than one drop in a limitless ocean! Yet what is an ocean but a multitude of drops."
