I struggled from the beginning with this. It wasn't the smoothest read and I didn't understand the relationship she had going with Clay, it was so dysfunctional. Then there was the length of the book; info dump occasionally, unnecessary bits that I skipped all together and just boredom in places.

I won't be continuing the series.

"I’m learning about Norway’s relationship with the Nazis and a lot of other things about that country. I like the protagonist, Harry Hole; it’s a ridiculous name, but it works. He’s grizzled, alcoholic, surrounded by a lot of corruption, so he’s working against the police and trying to find the serial killer at the same time."

I enjoyed the slow progression of their relationship, as in it took them sooo long to figure out that their "hatred" for each other was actually something more. I mean, who actually cares if their enemy is going on dates with guys who just want to sleep with her?

I think they both had blinkers on.

"What I loved about this was that neither Miller nor Sandy wanted a relationship and they both fell fast and HARD!"

The world building in this is pretty amazing, the Houses, the deeply thought out characters. I love the storylines, too. They're so well interweaved and I cannot wait to see how this series is going to end. I can't leave out the growing relationship between Connor and Nevada, too. I love that, too.

Off to start book 3!

This book has so much going on with a few amount of characters. Mainly centres round mother and daughter relationship and the lies they create between them and the dealy consequences of that. I really enjoyed reading the second half of the book, took awhile for me to get gripped but I definitely glad I read till the end
