Mothergamer (1607 KP) rated Fruits Basket in TV

I loved the manga and the original anime when it came out. The characters and story are great. Tohru herself is very sweet and you can't help but be drawn to her and her kindness. The remake of Fruits Basket is excellent. They did a fantastic job keeping the spirit of the original story and the emotional vibe of the main story and interactions with the characters. It was great to watch through it again and remember what made this series so special.

Big screen remake of an old 60s TV series, that was actually better than I was expecting!
Starring Steve Carrell, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Terence Stamsp (with support from the likes of Terry Crews, and a cameo from Bill Murray), this was more deadpan than I (vaguely) remember (I wasn't around in the 60s, and only caught a few episodes on repeat), although I did pick up on a few of the call backs in the movie to said series.

breaths live into an old story
beautiful visuals , great direction from Branagh and solid acting from a stellar cast makes this unneeded remake a must see ,slightly different from the original film and book Branagh is no Ustinov but is very good in the roll , with some minor "Politically Correct"changes but they dont take anything away from a great film ......I`m looking forward to the sequel Evil Under the Sun

Comedy film remake (I've never seen the original) from 2000 starring Brendan Fraser - here, at the height of his popularity following The Mummy films - and Liz Hurley, with the former playing a nerdy office worker who sells his soul to the devil (Liz Hurley) in exchange for seven wishes in order to gain the affection of a co-worker - wishes which, of course, never quite work out as he intended!
The result is an amusing enough 'feel good' comedy.

As a remake this one was spot on, from the off its doesn't disappoint, creepy clown stills the show, great young cast with there own issues in life and growing up, I highly recommend this movie, most films they class as horror Normally make me laugh, but this one has you on the edge of your seat with great jump moments, the start of a franchise of movies, let's just hope they don't over do it in future movies and spoil a great hit
Kay Bee (1 KP) rated Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) in Movies

Not the Jumanji of My Younger Years
I typically don't like "reboots" because most of the time it seems to mean "remake". However, Jumanji is a true reboot. It took the basic premise of the original and completely updated the concept for today's audience. I was super excited to see it as I'm a fan of everyone in the cast and they did not disappoint. Their chemistry was amazing their characters kicked ass and were hilarious.

"Get your ass to Mars."
So, I didn't actually see this film until the remake was in the process of being made. The film is based upon 'We Can Remember it for You Wholesale' by Phillip K. Dick (which is excellent). Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't an award winning actor, but he was completely entertaining (as he is in most films). The weird, early 1990s SFX where a little bizarre, e.g., the face generator. Overall, it's entertaining and well paced, and I may just watch it again this afternoon.
