Great Scandinavian Thriller
A gripping, dark, twisted Thriller with a great mix of action and suspense. It's very brutal as well!

Decent Scandi Thriller
I saw this got recommended when it was shown on TV in 2016. It's a good thriller with a supernatural element to it. Similar in style to the likes of @And Then There Were None - Season 1 as a group of friends at a remote closed ski lodge slowly reduce in number. It was a bit slow to begin with but it picked up. The only real problem it still seemed to leave a few questions unanswered. If you like Scandinavian thrillers set in pretty locations you should enjoy this. A second series, a prequel, starts soon.

A truly excellent thriller, this U.S. remake of a Norwegian film retains the feel of it's Scandinavian genesis.
Tense, twitchy and enthralling with fantastic performances, potent settings, and a great script and direction.

Pacino plays an L.A. cop hiding from his own guilt while investigating the death of a girl in Alaska.
Robin Williams is chillingly convincing as the manipulative bad man, proving yet again that he was a masterful actor as well as a gifted comedian.

Interesting plot but nothing spectacular
There's something enticing about Scandinavian thrillers that shine through imagery of its cold landscape. While it's an interesting story, nothing really seemed to stand out and the parallel story completely fell by the wayside - I suspect this will be picked up in Samuel Bjork's later novels. This goes for the protagonist Mia, who I believe may have a greater role in the following books.

As there are so many components to the story, you won't feel bored as such - but it is still far too long for what it is. The killer is predictable - remember always suspect the extremely nice side characters. So it doesn't break out of the thriller mould unfortunately. Slightly disappointed after all the hype.
