This was a strange one. The acting was decent and the cinematography was good. The effects of the creatures was pretty cool, too. The story was just weird. Couple of guys on an island in 1940 running a lighthouse and fighting off what seem to be "mer-people". It was definitely unique. Plenty of action but not super fast paced or anything. The ending was ok but left a lot of unanswered questions. Overall this one is interesting enough to keep your attention. Not too scary for kids or anything, either. Worth a watch.

Russ Troutt (291 KP) rated Unsane (2018) in Movies

After watching Unsane, I learned the entire movie was shot on an iphone, which is pretty amazing. The movie itself though is just wow! I don't want to say too much about it and spoil it, but I will say it's one of the most effed up movies I've watched in awhile. One of those psychological scary movies that really gets to you because of how realistic the scenario is. While one phone was picked up to film it, I highly suggest putting yours down long enough to give Unsane a watch.

okay so let me start by saying i love a good scare and this mostly fit the bill as such there was good story telling and developing as well the plot moved right along my only complaint is the fact the villan stole kids souls thats scary and sadly all too relavent to people today and the movie is about 30 minutes longer then needed to be but aside from that it was fantastic

I have so much love for Alien
One of my favourite horror movies! The xenomorph looked fantastic and after seeing how it was all made, it makes it so much more impressive. this movie builds tension so well and Ripley is one of my favourite heroines of all time. Jones also being my favourite animal hero of all time of course. I don't think i could think of a more amazing horror monster than a chest bursting, face hugging, scary motherfucker xenomorph. it will be giving nightmares still for years to come.

The plots can get confusing
After four episodes I can definitely say this season is better than the previous two seasons and after tonights episode best episode of this season for starters making the weeping angels scary again and the cliff hanger wow. What surprised me the this season is the edition of John Bishop as a companion I'm used to being a comedian but so far acting wise he been good overall doctor who is getting after two average seasons

Blazing Minds (92 KP) rated The Night House (2020) in Movies
Oct 29, 2021 (Updated Nov 2, 2021)
The Night House was my third movie at Cineworld Broughton yesterday and although I had heard many mixed feelings about the movie, my interest in The Night House was sparked by knowing that it was directed by David Bruckner who brought us The Ritual, a film I really enjoyed.
The Night House isn't as scary and jumpy as I hoped it would be, but it’s more of a supernatural thriller than horror and if you go in to watch it like that then you won’t be disappointed.

"All children grow up. Except one"
Live action version of JM Barrie's famous tale of the Boy who Never Grew Up, casting Jason Isaacs in the dual role of Mr Darling/Captain Hook, which makes me wonder is Captain Hook supposed to be the sterner side of their father, as seen through children's eyes!
Anyway, it's all here: Peter Pan himself, Tinkerbell, Neverland (including some rather scary mermaids for a family film!), The Lost Boys, Smee and Captain Hook, the alarm-clock swallowing crocodile that follows the latter ...
