Fascinating
A great all round series as a couple of FBI agents interview violent offenders around the US to try and understand their psyche.
If you like crime dramas, or programmes that look at the psychology of serial killers you'll enjoy this. The acting is very good and it feels well made all round. Some of the later episodes seem to go a little off track from the start. But overall it's a very good series on an interesting subject.

So from the sound of Hangman starring Al Pacino and Karl Urban sounded great when I first read the synopsis for the movie, a decorated homicide detective Ray Archer (Al Pacino) partners with criminal profiler Will Ruiney (Karl Urban) to catch one of the city’s notoriously vicious serial killers, who is playing a twisted version of murder inspired by the children’s game Hangman. Every 24 hours, a body is hung revealing the next letter carved into the victim’s body.

Weird or spooky history and folklore, sometimes cryptids
A well-researched show that gives facts and insights into everything from big foot to serial killers to Amityville horror. It goes all over the place, which I both like and dislike, but I always download it right when comes out. There are (melo)dramatic pauses, inferences about what people were feeling, and putting some reactions and stories into local and historic context. All presented in a soothing baritone. So, if that's what you're into, you'll love Lore.

***The first book in a bestselling new serial killer series***

Holly Wakefield works for the NHS as a criminal psychologist specialising in serial killers. She has particular reason to be good at her job - but she keeps that to herself.
When DI Bishop from the Met Police approaches Holly to investigate a recent killing, Holly is horrified by the dismembered bodies and the way they have been theatrically positioned. More shocking still is when the pathologist reveals this is not the first time she has seen these mutilations. It means a serial killer is out there, and they're going to kill again - soon.
Holly is used to chasing serial killers. But this killer has something in common with Holly that she's kept hidden for as long as she can remember. And for the first time since she was a child, Holly is forced to face the darkness of her past...

The first thriller in a gritty and gripping new crime series starring forensic psychologist Holly Wakefield.

This is a great début novel from this author and I am already wanting to read the next one!
When Darkness Calls is a serial killer book told from the point of view of the Criminal Psychologist Holly Wakefield; which is a nice change.
This is a really gripping page turner of a story.
I really liked the 2 main characters of Holly and Bishop; they were totally believable and can't wait to see how they develop.
I love the fact the author touched on the dark and gritty and wasn't afraid to go there as it helps set the tone of the novel.
This book has lots of twists and turns and will keep you hooked throughout.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and will be reading more from this author.
Highly Recommend!!

Thanks to Little Brown Book Group UK and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book. This is my honest voluntary review.

A mix of humour
Sharp, witty and thrilling
I'm a little late at getting round to watching this, having heard very good reviews about it. It's a great premise a serial killer working in the Miami police dept who targets other killers. It's very witty as well and largely has a darkly comic side to it. The story running through the series though plays out like a top selling thriller novel. It's a great mix that works very well. If you missed it check it out.

Matt Leyshon sets his novel in present day Chicago but the real story beings when Carl Axford is sent back in time to Whitechapel London 1888 and where he will bear witness to the work one of history most notorious serial killers known “Jack The Ripper”.

For those who are drawn to historical fiction and enjoy a good gripping thriller this is a must read . It has every thing a good fictionalised historical novel should have well researched historical details and a good dose of fiction.Well dons Matt can't wait for the next one.

Oh yeah! Serial killers and the paranormal OH MY!!
No spoilers. Book is one of his best. A 2 day read. Had to put it down only because I was completely unaware of my family's needs. Someone has to cook. Anyways... What I loved the most is finding small pieces of myself in each character. Whether good, bad, or ugly. We all can relate. The story itself is a page turner. Descriptive, twisty, haunting, and thought provoking. We are all The Outsider in our own way. READ IT.

Serial killers, psychos, and two friends from Utah who talk about true crime while using dark humour and foul language. They also tell true stories sent in by listeners and advocate for victims of domestic abuse in all forms.
The full episodes these days are interspersed with minisodes (Sosodes) that include bloopers, squirrel hunts, random tangents, and additional hilarity.
If you have tender sensibilities, definitely do not listen. Otherwise, get ready to have your feelings f***ed, and stay out of chalklines!
