Katie (868 KP) rated Marvel Unlimited Comics in Apps
Jun 10, 2018
Large selection (1 more)
Old and (fairly) new comics
Crashes sometimes (1 more)
Not supported on Kindle fire
This app has a very large selection of Marvel comics old and as recent as 6 months. They certainly don't have everything but they're adding more every week.
I had some issues with it crashing but those have died down a bit over time. I do wish there were more options as far as making reading lists as well.
As a note, this is not available on Kindle Fire. This is probably no fault of Marvel but it does affect one's ability to use the app. It can be sideloaded but does have significantly more crashes and freezes on there.

Great library

Love Spotify.
Currently my family and I are on the family plan so we have 6 logins. With the ability to all have our own accounts inside the master account, this is perfect and worth every penny we pay each month. The free version of Spotify is good but it is nothing compared to the full blown paid version.
If you are on the fence about whether you should pay for Spotify or not, trust me... you need to splurge and at least try it.

Pretend you're an interior decorator (2 more)
Design with real furniture
Clear graphics
Takes up space (1 more)
Have to earn money to "buy" furniture
I'm addicted
I can't stop playing this game. It's fun because you can choose furniture and decorations to make a nice living space. You win some items based on voting from other players. You can even purchase the real furniture for your own home if you were so inclined. The only disappointing features are that you have to earn the game money to purchase things for your next room so sometimes your design might not be exactly how you'd want. Also it really hogs memory. Otherwise, I really enjoy the creativity and the challenge.

Quirky
Well these are not your traditional idea of toys.
Some are frankly a bit odd looking. When looking though the book I sometimes thought "That looks like someone has made a toy pattern from a kids picture." They are often quite weird looking, and yet strangely appealing.
If you like slightly odd toys... this is definitely the book for you.
The patterns themselves are clearly written, with lots of colourful pictures and full colour charts where needed.
So far I have made a black Rill Raccoon as my 10 yr old fell in love with the idea of a Ninja raccoon... and I will be making a LOT more

I think the topic of immigration is very relevant because we are always seeing immigrants arrive into new cities and sometimes I think we forget we all immigrated ourselves. Maybe hundreds of years ago but we are all immigrants, searching for a new land.
In my case, my dad emigrated from India as did my mum's parents. To come to a new strange land with different customs which you may have to follow in some cases is daunting. It's like when you leave the comfort of your own home and venture out into the big wide world, exciting but scary.

Andy K (10823 KP) rated Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) in Movies

The screenplay!
Man, just when I think Hollywood has nothing fresh to give us, they crank out a gem like this film.
When a sassy divorced Missouri woman is unhappy with local law enforcement after her daughter's brutal rape/murder case has gone cold, she takes matters into her own hands to try and spark some progress by purchasing three billboards shaming them.
The real star here is the dialogue. What a fresh, engaging, sometimes nasty script really kept me laughing, gasping and thoroughly entertained and wanting to know what happens next.
I would say the third act is a slight disappointment, but doesn't detract from an overall mesmerizing film.

Andy K (10823 KP) rated National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) in Movies

Who doesn't get fed up with the relatives sometimes?
In my top 3 Christmas movies of all time.
This time, the vacation comes to the Griswolds as the relatives come by for a helping of holiday cheer as Clark decides to makes his home a Christmas light spectacle while waiting for his Christmas bonus.
I think it resonates because we have all had those trying times with the family or the one relative you wish you could tell off or not have to sit next to.
The witty banter among the family as well as Chevy Chase's impeccable dry wit makes the film a venerable holiday classic for sure.

Not even gabriel byrne can save this movie
Hereditary- at first looked good from the trailers, but the trailers mislead sometimes. The trailers really mislead this movie. Overall some parts were good, others were bad. It seem like the first half was slow and the second part really jumped over 10.
One of my favorite actors gabriel byrne who by the way is a fair underrated actor couldnt even save this movie.
Im not sure, who this movie is for?
Is it for people who like these films....
1. The lobster
2. The killing of a sacred deer
3. Mother!
4. The cell
If so this movie is for you. Its weird, creepy to watch and overall disappointed.

Where is the beaver?
Cute
I watched the original film countless times as a kid and I was looking forward to this. It still is a great family movie. It is still over quant and charming (but thats what i loved) which sometimes is nice to watch and just sped some time feeling the world is nice.
However is there enough difference to make it a stand alone triumph? Well not really and this is why it has the lower score, plus the beaver is missing. How could they lose the beaver? If you haven't seen the original then bump that up to an 8.

AT (1676 KP) rated Night Theater in Books
Mar 6, 2020
To say that I "liked" the story is probably not the best word to use, considering the story. I did like it, for lack of a better term at the moment. It's magical, morbid, sometimes funny, and it definitely makes you think. I enjoyed the originality of the story. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I will say that I wasn't sure what would happen for sure until the end. Night Theater was a short read, but definitely an interesting one. I wasn't sure that I'd like it at first, but there was no reason to put it down. I'm glad I happened to run across this book by chance.
