As spies go, it is useful.
Well, she may hear her name in the oddest sentences, and listen to everything you say, but dam, I like being able to play music and SIM the lights without getting up.

Killing Beauties is about the female spies (She-Intelligencers - isn’t it funny how they could make even that sound like an insult đŸ¤”) who worked for the exiled Charles Stuart during Cromwells reign. Charles Stuart himself sends two female spies back to England to turn Cromwell’s Secretary of State, John Thurloe, into their accomplice using their feminine wiles and training. This is actually based on the true story of two female spies - not something that any of us are usually taught in history lessons at school (perhaps due to their methods!). This is a story with heaps of subterfuge and betrayal, and women who are determined to do the best job they can for their King and their secret society. It was quite amusing in places, which was a little light relief in an otherwise tense story. There’s loads of great historical detail too - think sights, smells and sounds.

It’s a really fun book - fast-paced and with a feeling of danger. I loved it!

Many thanks to The Pigeonhole for serialising the book, and for Pete Langdon for commenting along with us readers!

Kill One, Save A Thousand
A well acted, well written war movie. Murphy and Dornan are great as the two lead spies and production level is high. The sets and the use of practical effects make for exciting battle scenes that break up the tension and dread that is present throughout the film.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
2014 | Action, Sci-Fi
This installment is very different as the film's tone is quite dark and the story is that of spies and espionage which is a bold move and direction for Marvel that pays off handsomely and makes for an intense and thrilling watch.
This is up there as one of the best sequels in the genre and is a must see.

Commander Toad and the crew of the Space Warts have been sent to a planet full of spies to retrieve Agent 007 1/2. Their advantage is that this spy is Commander Toad’s cousin. The disadvantage is that he is also a master of disguise. Sure enough, soon after landing they meet several spies who could all be the agent. Can they figure out which one he is?

This is another fun adventures with Commander Toad and his crew. The book is very well done with a plot even the target early readers should be able to follow as they logically solve the problem at hand. Throw in the best puns in the series to date and you have a real winner.

Early noughties (2003?) Rowan Atkinson vehicle, with Atkinson portraying the only spy England has left following a bombing - probably the most inept of spies there is. Imagine James Bond. Now imagine everything he did went wrong.

You've more or less got Johnny English.

Also starring Natalie Imbruglia and John Malkovich, the plot of this takes in stolen Crown Jewels, Johnny's attempts to regain them, and a coronation.
