Interesting Story
The storyline in this movie is very interesting which is what caused me to bother watching it at all. The acting let this one down though, it all felt very forced, which is generally what I've come to expect from TV movies. The locations they filmed at are very beautiful though. Probably wouldn't bother watching again but it's worth a look if you've run out of interesting things to watch on Netflix.

Decent adaptation
This movie followed the book as well as can be expected considering it was a "made for TV" min-series comprised of two separate parts. Characters were explored as much as possible in the time frame given but the world isn't nearly as well developed as it is in the book. Like any amazing book brought to film many vital pieces get left behind, but the heart of the story is still captured.

I was shockingly wowed!
The original tv movie was a classic horror movie in its own right but this one is a masterpiece. When it was over I was wowed by the factor that I honestly didn't think this movie could top the original tv movie but I have been wrong before and this new take on Stephen Kings IT was thrillingly crafted into a masterpiece. We need more horror movies like this.

Mid-90s TV Sean Bean starring TV movie, loosely based on the Bernard Cornwell novel of the same name.
I say loosely based, but as not as loosely as the previous (Sharpe's Gold): here, the rough outline is pretty much the same as in the novel - sure, there are liberties taken and subplots left out and/or changed, but this *is* recognizably the same story, complete with Brigadier Guy Loup, the spanish Real Compania Irelande (sp?) et al
