Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2200 KP) rated Pop Goes the Murder (Popcorn Shop Mystery #2) in Books

I enjoyed the first book in this series, and I was delighted with this one as well. Several of the characters I liked in the first weren’t around much here, but the characters we did see again or meet for the first time or than made up for it. The plot was strong, with plenty of suspects to choose from. I did figure things out a bit early, but that wasn’t an issue since I was having so much fun.
NOTE: I received a copy of this book.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2200 KP) rated Irish Stewed (Ethnic Eats Mystery #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
This book starts off strongly and keeps us turning pages as we go from suspect to suspect. The climax is a tad rushed, but all the answers we need are there to tie things up. Laurel’s past as a foster child makes for an interesting main character. Occasionally, I was frustrated with her, but most of the time I liked her, and I see great potential for character growth over the course of the series. I’m already hungry for seconds.
NOTE: I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Eleanor (1463 KP) rated American Crime Story Season 1: The People v. O.J. Simpson in TV
Nov 10, 2019
For someone unfamiliar with all the facts of the case I could have done with more detail especially the prosecutions whole case, much was made of their been a load of evidence but we didn’t get to see how much of it was presented. Instead, we did get a lot of insight into the personalities around the case with some strong performances, in particular, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark alongside some less convincing showings. I’m not that familiar with Simpson, but Cuba Gooding Jr didn’t really invoke him to me.
All in all interesting and well put together insight into arguably the biggest TV trial in history.
