I LOVED IT
This show is based on the comics of the same name, by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, and retains all the black humour, sick scenes and top notch dialogue of the comics.
The plot sees Preacher Jesse Custer somehow imbued with Genesis, a divine presence that gives him the power to tell people what to do. His conflict with local businessman (meat and electricity, what an empire!), Quincannon sees him try to use Genesis to convince the town that God exists.
This is a gritty, dark comedy with moments of genuine laugh out loud jokes as well as truly disturbing but life-like scenes.
Given how well this was delivered, I cannot wait to see how Amazon's treatment of The Boys plays out!

2008 | Dice Game, Prehistoric
Excellent tactile feel to the game. Offers a sense of accomplishment. Forgiving, but still creates tension. Easy for newcomers but still enjoyable for advanced players. (0 more)
Might run a little long, especially with new players. Dice rolls prone to swings of luck. Not an extremely deep game. (0 more)
Dice are most of the time anathema to Euro gamers. The numbered cubes are seen as the center of luck-driven games. Almost all of us have a tale to tell of knocking on the door of Irkutsk with a giant army only to be fended off by a few lucky rolls.

One of the best soundtracks
I cannot get enough of this soundtrack. Since seeing the film in December, I've had this album on virtually constantly in my car and I can tell you, it really brightens up the journey to work!

It's been a long time since I've listened to a soundtrack that has had so many good songs. With the exception of Tightrope which I'm not particularly keen on, the rest of the songs are fantastic. They're all ridiculously catchy and well written, with great music. Keala Settle has a fantastic voice and Hugh Jackman too, and it's even good to hear Zac Efron singing again. I'd name my favourite songs, but I'd end up naming pretty much the entire album...

It wins hands down against The Stand
The title says it all. Once I picked this up, I couldn't put it down. As always, Stephen King creates a world inside your head and 3 dimensional characters you feel like you could reach out and touch.
This book leads you by the hand through a small town cut off from the outside world, straight to a finale that is a satisfying end. King does not disappoint.
Kings telltale show don't tell writing is on display here, whilst critics condemn him, as a reader this is what brings the story to life.
If are on the fence about King, pick this up, stick with it, he will delight and surprise you.
