From the creators of Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit comes the “true”
story of the origin of the world’s most popular sport-football (or soccer
as we call it in the U.S.). A charming film that takes us back to the dawn
of man, The Stone Age, where a motley band of cavemen and women live an
archaic lifestyle foraging and hunting for their food.
Their way of life
is shattered as the Bronze age approaches, and mining for metal becoming
superior, along with the love of football (soccer) playing second. The
leader of the Bronze Age conquerors Lord Nooth strips the cavemen from
their land to mine for more metal and for smelting. Eager to keep their
way of life and get their home back, the Cavemen challenge Lord Nooth to a
game of football.
Who doesn’t love a good underdog story? As you can guess, it’s hysterical
slapstick humor and sheer silliness of epic proportion. In true Wallace
and Gromit fashion, Aardman animation create a movie with an underlying
sweetness that makes the audience fall in love with such delightful
characters.
Featuring an all-star British voice cast featuring Tom
Hiddleston, Maisie Williams, Tom Redmayne, and Timothy Spall, Early Man may
not be your typical run of the mill bright, boisterous, tug at the
heartstrings type of movie, but it definitely provides enough physical
comedy to keep the audience laughing and a great message about teamwork and
learning to coexist.

In the expansion review series, we take a look at a game expansion to discuss whether it is a necessary purchase/addition to one’s collection.
This breakdown is for the excellent two-player game Onitama, and the expansion is named Way of the Wind, from Arcane Wonders.
This expansion includes two new Move cards, a new Wind Spirit mini, and eight Wind Spirit cards. The Wind Spirit mini is placed in the middle of the board at setup. Either player can move the Wind Spirit on their turn by playing one of the specific Wind Spirit Move cards. These special Move cards are divided into two segments where the top segment is for normal student/master movement and the bottom is for Wind Spirit movement. Should the Wind Spirit be moved onto an existing student, the Wind Spirit and student switch spots on the board. It can never be moved onto a master’s spot, and the Wind Spirit cannot be captured nor can it capture another piece on the board.
Right away, this small expansion adds more animal Move cards to the base game. That’s a good thing. Variety is the spice of life, no? It also adds another wonderful mini in a translucent blue to be moved around the board. That’s also a good thing. Along with the mini the Wind Spirit also brings its own special Move cards and rules for movement. Good. All in all, the expansion adds more things to the base game and new things for the expansion. I like it.
Is it necessary to own? No. Is it nice to have to spice up your game of Onitama? Absolutely. Being able to thwart your opponent’s plans by placing the Wind Spirit in the way is a nice touch, and it adds more great table presence with the new mini.
Official recommendation: Grab it if you are a fan of Onitama and want to throw something new into the mix, but do not feel obligated to add it. Onitama is good enough on its own without this, but I am certainly glad I have my copy.

The book comes to life
The story of 4 siblings who are sent to live outside if england during WWII. The go and live on a estate with many different rooms for playing games like hide and seek. During a game young Lucy hides in an old wardrobe and ends up in a magical land ruled by an evil ice queen. She tries and convince her other siblings Edmund,Peter and Susan that this winderful and magical land exisits but, they don't buy it. During one game Edmund the youngest brother hides with her and experiences first hand of this wonderland of sorts but, there is a prophey that 2 kings and 2 queens will come free Narnia. Evuntually they all get to experience Narnia and learn of the prohecy and go to meet the king Aslan to understand it all. Will they free Narnia and get home or will they be traped forever

Leaves Heavy Rain in the dust
The only other Quantic Dream game I have played is 2010s 'Heavy Rain' - a game that I kind of enjoyed, but to me always felt like it was in the cusp of being so much more.
Detroit: Become Human is that 'so much more'.
Detroit follows the narrative of three playable characters - Kara, Markus, and Connor - all androids living in a not too distant future. Androids exist purely to make life easier for humans. They are treated like slaves in a lot of cases and generally mistreated, causing some models to deviate from their programming, and develop free thinking.
These characters stories follow different parts as an Android revolution for equal rights picks up pace.
With all the issues our real world faces at present, a lot of the storyline seems apt, as a subtle social commentary is weaved throughout, without ever slapping you over the face with it.
The different narratives flow perfectly alongside one another, and it becomes clear very quickly, that even the smallest choice you make can drastically effect the route your story takes. It makes for some thrilling an intense moments, where someone you've grown to care about could be snatched away from you without warning.
The graphics and motion capture are breathtaking. It's a gorgeous looking game that emits pure quality, showing off just how much effort has gone into it.
The gameplay ranges from slower detective work, to furious chases, to combat wrapped in QTE. It stands apart in that respect as the moments where the often dreaded QTE sections are deployed, the situation is usually so tense that it feels more urgent - the stakes are always high, as one slip up could cost you dearly.
(The mission aboard Jericho in the latter stages of the game had me legit stressed!)
And to top it all off, Detroit has a wonderful musical score, that compliments the well written script perfectly.
I can't recommend Detroit enough - I can't fault it in any way. I'm already excited to dive back in to pursue more of the many endings the game has to offer!
