I've been wanting to get into the Dragonriders of Pern series for quite some time, and tried on many occasions, starting various books. This is one of the reasons I've started in the 'wrong' place. Given the fact there was definitely some lore I felt I was missing which was probably given in the earlier three books. But saying that none of what I didn't know spoiled my enjoyment of this book. I got totally emersed in the world of Pern and look forward to returning.

"I first saw This Is Spinal Tap when I was seven or eight, and it totally changed my life. This was comedy. This was how you performed comedy. It gave me a leg up at an early age. The Criterion disc is a must because they do commentary out of character. Listening to those three guys talking about how they created and related to these characters, how they approached scenes, and where the inspiration for each scene came from taught me a lot. Thanks, Criterion!"

So I'm a huge fan of the POTC films, I felt this is the last of a trilogy of the franchise, any afterwards stand alone. It has it's moments of frivolity that fit in well (like the moment in my heading) it doesn't feel forced.
I absolutely love the ending, it is both satisfying and bittersweet but it was genuinely a natural progression of the three films together.

"Choice number three may or may not surprise you, but I absolutely loved, loved, loved Hidden Figures. If I were a young African-American woman, I would ask the question: Why did I not know about this story before now? And even as a 69-year-old white male, I want to know why I didn’t know about that story. It’s so inspiring. It’s almost like a fact-checked Frank Capra movie for the 21st century, and really, really, really got me psyched up about it."

I remember watching this movie back in early nineties late night on tv thinking this was a corny bit silly for a horror movie but I thought it was still funny and I kinda liked it now ive watched again 30 years later is it as good as I remember yes I laughed especially when George wendt turns up basically playing norm from cheers without the bar the effects are bit outdated but the makeup effects are excellent. Maybe I should watch the three sequels some time

The app, when it works as designed, isn't terrible. The problem is that it rarely works as designed.

Constant automatic refreshes to the feed make reading through the days events nearly impossible. Ads are intrusive. If I see one more notification telling me how to vote I'm going to scream. I've been a registered voter since I was 18. I've never not voted in an election cycle. I should have the opportunity to turn off the notifications that I get three times a day.
