Haley Mathiot (9 KP) rated Dawn of the Dreadfuls in Books
Apr 27, 2018
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls
by Jane Austen and Steve Hockensmith
Genre: Re-mixed classic
Rating: 5
Dawn of the Dreadfuls is hilarious! Hockensmith has captured Austen’s original characters and brought them back (from the dead) in a gruesomely wonderful prequel to Pride and Prejudice. This Zombiefied quirky classic will have you snickering and giggling like Lydia and Kitty. (By the way, I’m officially adding Zombiefied to my dictionary. It’s an awesome word.)
The writing was so much like Austen’s that I began to wonder if it really wasn’t by her. It was eloquent and witty and almost audible in that you could hear the accents of the speakers and the narrator.
Content: an occasional dirty word (I think d--- was used like, twice in the whole book?), very few sexual references. But remember that we’re talking about dead brain-eating zombies here, people. It’s not for the faint of heart (or stomach) and it’s not for kids.
Recommendation: 12+ If you love the paranormal, horror, or anything Jane Austen, this one is for you.
Dawn of the Dreadfuls will be published on March 24th 2010.

Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated Lethbridge-Stewart: The Dreamer's Lament (#13) in Books
Jan 12, 2018
Another outstanding entry in the Brig-verse. When you tell me zombies are feature players, I inwardly groan a little as it's not a genre that typically fits the Doctor Who (or Lethbridge-Stewart) mold, and instead feels like a Walking Dead fan trying to insert his fan fic into someone else's sandbox. Not so here, as there's a certain logic and working science to the proceedings that makes all misgivings go away. The story is fast-paced and nicely told. Book Divas (227 KP) rated The First Days (As the World Dies #1) in Books
Mar 17, 2018
Like a zombie devouring flesh, I devoured this horrifying book. As I read this well-written storyline full of blood, trailing intestines and graphic scenes, I found myself thoroughly immersed in the story; I could hear those terrifying moans and screams that came from the zombies, and I could smell the rotten, decaying scent in the air.
This heart-pounding edge of your seat read will keep you in its bloody grip from beginning to end, and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

Cool survival game to play with a friend
I play this with my son. We have several worlds we play. It can be difficult especially when you lose all your stuff and playing legitimately can take forever. There is a cheat option though and for my son it makes the game easier when you just want to go around killing zombies and collecting stuff. The game sometimes freezes or stops working but not enough to cause major problems in playability

It's so well thought out (4 more)
Challenging
Engaging
Easy to pick up
Well made
Excellent team coop game
This game is a firm favourite when we do board-game days.
You play either heros or zombies. There are various different missions and games are usually close, going down to the wire and adding to the thrill of it. Worth every penny and I shall be getting the expansions for it.
Did I mention it's well thought out? It's so good - you can tell someone has put a lot of effort into getting the balance just so.

Yoshi (40 KP) rated The Enchanter Heir (The Heir Chronicles, #4) in Books
Oct 29, 2018
I absolutely loved this book. The addition of the zombies/shades to this series makes it even better, making this book the perfect read for the month of October. There are enough mentions of the original characters from the series to make me happy, but not so much that you wouldn't understand the story without the first three (apart from the magical guilds). Unfortunately this is the first book in the heir series that leaves unresolved problems at the end, but at least we know there's another book coming.

PyroTheDragon (6 KP) rated the PlayStation 4 version of Resident Evil 7 biohazard in Video Games
Nov 14, 2018
This is not Resident Evil.
When I bought this, on a whim with no real research, I though I was getting a zombie game. What I got was not zombies, though it had somewhat of a resident evil feel the game is way off script. Without really giving details I can't explain it any better than this. You remember the Halloween series? Most of the movies followed Mike Meyers and his antics. Except for one somewhere in the middle that had nothing to do with him. That movie is this game.

A different type of Zombie novel
Contains spoilers, click to show
This is the first book in the series following the zombie apocalypse. Seen through the eyes of one lone survivor recording events in his journal as he tries to make it out of an infested London. Have to admit I was a little unsure at first but after the first couple of pages I couldn't put this down. Even in the slower sections it's a great read. If you want to read something a little bit different but still with plenty of Zombies this is the book

Bill Murray (3 more)
Tilda Swinton
Adam driver
Iggy Pop
Finally got around to watching this and I didn't like it as much as I thought I did for a comedy about zombies there wasn't many laughs to be had. Plus not enough Selena Gomez either bill Murray was good and so was Adam driver and too see Tilda Swinton with a samurai sword being badass. Plus Iggy Pop as a zombie wanting his coffee fix. Could have been so much better think I will stick to zombieland

Long
Funny, easy watching
Somehow I keep watching Dave Bautista films and wondering why I end up writing reviews like this. He is very obvious actor. In AOD the main story between Dav and his daughter is very forced down your throat and could have been done subtley.
I love the characters, the setting, storyline and general zombie stupidity. I think there were a few plot holes that were filled hastily and it was interesting to see the twist on the usual zombies.
Long for what the story consists of.
