It takes a special kind of confidence to ask a movie studio to give you $60 million to make a two-hour-plus movie about mops and the home shopping channel, but David O Russell clearly has it and here is the result. What Fox were doing saying yes is probably less mysterious if you look at Russell's track record and the calibre of the cast he assembled for this movie.

Still, this is probably the most substantial movie ever released which is predominantly concerned with the realities of domestic cleaning and the intricacies of injection-moulded plastic and patent protection law - I suppose there is also a healthy element dealing with the protagonist's family and relationships, and the general hard-work-and-dedication-will-get-you-there-eventually ethos is the kind of thing that makes studios and audiences comfortable. Good performances, obviously; generally very engaging and watchable; educational, too, especially if you have trouble keeping the floor clean.

There Be Watching You
The Hills Have Eyes- is one of those remakes that you forgot that came out. It is also a very underrated movie. Why does no one talk about this movie? Why does no one remember this movie and that it came out. More people should know about it and watch it because it is a very good underrated horror remake.

The plot: Bob Carter and his wife Ethel, along with five other members of the family, are heading for San Diego with their camper vans. An accident strands them in the desert and while two of the men go for help, the others are forced to wait. They're unaware that they've ended up stuck near the site where, decades earlier, nuclear tests gave rise to a group of mutant monsters who have developed a taste for human flesh.

Its all about survival. Its all about surviving and living to see tomorrow.

I would highly reccordmend this movie.

The Exorcist (1973)
1973 | Horror

"Friedkin film; one that has actually inspired my current movie. You always dream about making the ultimate horror movie, and I think The Exorcist is it. The fact that it’s about such a dark and bleak subject, and yet it leaves us with a sense of hope, is something that I’ve sort of tried to do with my current movie. Again, it has this fantastic sort of sense of dread throughout the film that kind of takes you to this place you’ve never been to before in a movie. It’s totally believable; somehow it makes you believe that this young girl is possessed by the devil, which is no mean feat, I have to say. But you buy it, you know? And it’s also done in such a simple technical way. You know, [it was made] before the age of CGI, and yet it’s as potent today as it’s ever been. It’s extraordinary."

Movie Favorite

"Another one of my favorite movies in the whole world is A Soldier’s Story. It was originally a play but this one stars Denzel Washington and David Allen Grier and Howard E. Rollins. [It’s set] in World War II, it’s about the racial divide in the army, but it’s also about a murder mystery, but then it also dealt with the social class differences, and so that was another one that — [Norman] Jewison directed that; he really hit the nail on the head. Very well written, very well acted, another movie I could quote from top to bottom."

Who knew finding an alien life form on another planet wasn't going to end badly. Well I would think everyone. I like that they also told the whole world that they found it too, and they gave it a name. If you know anything about finding an animal, once you give it a name its harder to let it go. The other problem is if it does get to earth an cause chaos now you know who to blame.

This movie was just like every other alien movie out there. I don't think I saw one surprise the whole time. The end was sort of, but you could have seen it coming. The one thing that I did like was the alien itself. How it grew, how it fed and how smart it was. Usually you don't get that from a alien movie. Its mostly seek and destroy.

The acting was just ok. For the cast that was chosen I think it could have been better. Also I thought there should have been a love story with a couple crew members, it would have added a little more drama. I also think if you send a team to space they really should have all been on the same page with firewalls.

I liked the graphics and the CGI. The way it was filmed was cool too. Being able to film the whole movie with it looking like they were in space was great. I thought you could totally believe they were floating around.

I think this movie could totally have a sequel if they do it correctly. Because they include the Earth at the beginning of the movie, I think it would be cool to find out what happened.

As far as alien movies go, it wasn't the worst. It was entertaining. I would say if you are looking for something sci-fi to watch or you just like the cast, go for it. As always, enjoy the show.

Lots of action. (2 more)
Nice casino theme.
Great transition to a new type of James Bond.
Vesper. (1 more)
Bad antagonist background.
Awesome Story, Awesome Lead Actor, Not So Awesome Female Companion.

I really looked forward to seeing this movie, and I really was satisfied. This movie had a great antagonist a great protagonist and a wonderful story to wrap it up in. My only problem was that Vesper was weak, and didn't add much to the story like some of Bond's other companions. Also the main enemy had no explanation to what HE really wanted to do. Like was he trying to make money? Or was he just being a jerk? The last thing is that this usually the transition with a new actor is rocky but Craig did amazing and that's one of the things I liked about the movie. I would definitely recommend it to other who like action movies.

Hmmm ... not Suicide Squad, but 'The Suicide Squad'.

Like Aliens and not Alien.

A sort-of sequel to the earlier movie (here, Suicide Squad), with some of the same characters - most noticeably, Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn - although it is by no means necessary to have watched that earlier movie.

This is also a fair bit bloodier/messier than I remember said earlier movie being, and has absolutely no mention of either Batman or the Joker (unless you count Quinn's aversion to personalised number plates? See The Jokers car ...) to distract from the plot here, which sees the group of super-villains (all with a tracker and bomb implanted in their head) all sent on a mission to the island of Corto Maltese to destroy a Nazi-era prison and laboratory.

Of the 2 movies, I think this is the better.

It's definitely a James Gunn film through and through!

Wonder Woman (2017)
Wonder Woman (2017)
2017 | Action, Fantasy, War
Wonder Woman is visually beautiful, fairly well paced, and delivers great action. If you like superhero movies, it's definitely one to go see. Gal Gadot plays the bright-eyed and slightly alien Diana with aplomb. The plot is definitely weak in places. This movie has one or two moments where things would be solved much more swiftly if the characters weren't keeping secrets for very flimsy reasons, and also fails to give answers to some things, such as Diana's wrist guards. All in all, though, this movie had heart and I appreciated it for refusing to fall into grit and darkness. It's hard to craft a character who is brave and honest and quintessentially good and also make them not incredibly boring. This movie did that very well.
