Jenny Houle (24 KP) rated Hedgehog Wisdom: Little Reasons to Smile in Books
Jan 13, 2018
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley for an unbiased opinion.
Carolyn Parker embraced a rising internet trend (using cute animals to cheer people up) by introducing us to her hedgehogs: Hodge Huffington and Marshmallow Fluff. The entire book is an adorable photo of either Hodge or Marshmallow alongside a little snipbit bit of advice.
It's definitely a kitschy little book, but adorable nonetheless, and will make a great gift for someone who just needs a reminder to smile.

Jenny Houle (24 KP) rated Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) in Movies
Jan 13, 2018
I can't put into words how inspiring this movie felt to me. I feel like I have heard one of two reactions to the movie: "It's just another Star Wars movie at this point" and "OMG, didn't you love it? Didn't you feel like it was a reminder of hope? Didn't you feel like it was a reminder to resist?", and the reactions come from two very specific types of people.
Also, who can resist the little penguin-type animals? Really? Adorable.

Jessica Cashen (1 KP) rated Shoebox Funeral: Stories from Wolf Creek in Books
May 16, 2018
This book is beautifully written. It is full of short stories about a girl in a large family on big ol farm in Pennsylvania. It is also about her love of cats and kittens, and the many animals that came and went on the farm. Most of the stories are sad, but have beautiful illustrations. But overall I really enjoyed reading this book.
I received an ARC copy of this book from #NetGalley and I am leaving a voluntary, honest review.

Outstanding Programing
Sir David Attenborough once again narrates a series full of astonishing creatures, and some if the most stunning shots I have ever seen. Like the original series, it is broken down into sections, each showing a habitat such as jungles, the deep sea ect. And how the animals within deal with the challenges of that habitat. It is another beautiful showcase of the founders of the natural world and is a MUST see for all nature documentary fans.
