Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2379 KP) rated Access Denied (Turing Hopper, #3) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Artificial Intelligence Personality Turing Hopper is excited to finally have a clue to the location of a criminal she needs to track down. However, her PI friend Tim gets accused of a murder when he goes to investigate. The characters are still very real, both human and AIP, and the plot is fast moving. Just read the series in order.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2379 KP) rated The Mysterious Visitor (Trixie Belden, #4) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The Bob-Whites grow in number as they add neighbor Diana Lynch to the mix. She's unhappy because of her uncle. He's just shown up after being missing for years, and Diana is sure something is off. Could he be an impostor? A good mystery and the characters are still at their best. Another great read in a series I love.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2379 KP) rated The Fairy-Tale Detectives (The Sisters Grimm, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Sabrina and Daphne Grimm have just been sent to live with the grandmother they didn't know they had. The bigger surprise is that they are now responsible for keeping the fairy tale characters from causing trouble. Like the giant running around town…. Yes, this is a kid's series, but I found it charming and entertaining once it got past the slow start.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2379 KP) rated Tales from the Hood in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The Grimm family is on the edge of finally freeing Sabrina and Daphne's parents from the sleeping spell they are under. Meanwhile, their friend the Big Bad Wolf is being tried for his crimes. This entire series is lots of fun, and it provides some nice twists to the familiar fairy tale characters. Aimed at kids, any adult will enjoy it.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2379 KP) rated Set Sail for Murder in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Living legend Polly Pepper joins her fellow cast members from her TV show on a cruise to relive their glory days. However, the first night out, one of the co-stars is murdered. This is the fourth in the series, and the characters were still over the top fun, however the plot was very easy to figure out.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2379 KP) rated Goody Goody Gunshots (A Candy Shop Mystery, #4) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When Abby witnesses a murder, naturally she leaves to call the police. Only when they return, they can't find a body. Then Abby sees the victim around town. What's going on? This is the fourth in the series, and I thought it was the best one to date. The characters are strong and the plot kept me guessing until the end.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2379 KP) rated Madness at Moonshiner's Bay (Accidental Detectives, #8) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The Accidental Detectives are off to Disney World, only their trip is interrupted when Ricky, Joel, and Lisa are kidnapped and trapped on an island guarded by an alligator. Can they figure out what their captor's want? Definitely one of the more suspenseful books in the series, but still so very good. My feet get clammy just thinking about some of the scenes.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2379 KP) rated Dog on It (A Chet and Bernie Mystery #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Chet and Bernie attempt to track down a girl that has been kidnapped. Unless she ran away. What makes this series unique is that it is told from the point of view of Chet, a dog. That was mostly cute, although occasionally it fell flat. The plot could have used some rearranging as well, but overall I enjoyed it.

Clare Parrott (294 KP) rated Burning Desire: Part 1 in Books
Feb 13, 2018
When I started reading this book I was unaware it was part of a series and as so I feel I have missed out on much of the history. Part 1 is OK so far but I have to say that the written scottish accent is very annoying, I am quite capable of putting in a scottish accent as I read if the character has one. I want to keep reading but the accent thing is really going to bug me.

Briannabrown1019 (799 KP) rated Whiskey, Words, & A Shovel I in Books
Jun 25, 2018
For the hour or two that it takes to read this book of poems, many will feel that they have a friend. Someone who understands what they're going through. It feels very much like a pep talk from your best friend, reminding you of your worth. Most of the poems are very short. 3-5 lines for the smallest, but overall I really liked this collection, and I plan to read the other two in the series.
