That’s Quite an Imagination You’ve Got There
In this book, we meet Marco, a young boy whose father is always encouraging him to observe the world around him to see what he can see. However, his trip home from school on Mulberry Street is rather boring. All he sees is a horse pulling a broken-down wagon. But what if, instead, he said he saw a new cart…drawn by a zebra. No, that’s not special enough. Where will Marco’s wild story stop?

I didn’t read this book too much as a kid, but even as an adult, it is easy to fall into the classic Seuss rhythm and rhyme. It does get a little repetitive since he repeats Mulberry Street so often, but that’s the only real complaint. Marco’s imagination is so much fun, although I appreciated that he told the truth in the end. The illustrations are classic Seuss as well, and the caricatures of everyone are so much fun. Fans will also enjoy seeing that the elephant looks remarkably like Horton. If you can track this book down, you and your kids will enjoy it.

incredibly long: if you're not one for appreciating visuals for 3 hours, this film might not hold your attention for the full running time (0 more)

Elegant, rich language, plot filled with twists
The entire premise of this novel surrounds the enigmatic Richard Smith who has turned up in New York in the 1700s with £1,000, a huge sum at the time. The prose is elegant and rich, reminiscent of classic period dramas written by Edith Wharton, but mixes the plot of the Taming Of The Shrew with "The Guest" by Satyajit Ray. The ending is poignant when we discover his true purpose of the money and there are literally hundreds of twists throughout the novel. Beautifully written.

Creepy existential dystopian science fiction
The final twist to this epic dystopian science fiction actually made me physically gasp.

Ubik has so many layers, it may take several reads to understand all the different facets - either way it is fascinating, claustophic, terrifying and intriguing all at the same time. Is Ubik supposed to be a version of God? That is the question. While there are hundreds of loose ends, it is made to be discussed and debated until there are no words left.

I can see why it's still a classic originally published in 1969.

One of Hanks' Best
I don't know anyone who doesn't love this film. It's a modern day classic - funny, sad and ridiculously heartwarming. Forrest is one of the most loveable protagonists and is played brilliantly by Tom Hanks, but yet it also provides some of the best supporting characters in Bubba and Lieutenant Dan. I love that it ties in with historical events and It's one of the few films I could watch over and over again and not get bored of. They don't make films like this anymore.

Fargo (1996)
Fargo (1996)

Extremely dark, black comedy based on a true story
That scene woodchipper scene will haunt me for life.

Truth is definitely stranger than fiction. This extremely dark 'comedy' is now infamous in gallows humour. Without revealing everything, a woman is kidnapped by a psychotic conman and his slightly weedy partner for ransom. Her husband is in charge of gaining this ransom from his father-in-law, only for things to go very, very wrong.

It's a classic cult film, not for everyone. But if you loved 'In Bruges', this will be right up your street.

The Goonies (1985)

Sums up all my childhood movies
Awesome adventurous kids, a daring quest, and being set in 1980s America, pretty much sums up all childhood movies into one. The Goonies is an absolute classic coming of age movie of kids trying to stop a rich developer buying up property and splitting up the young friends. Their way is to find mythical treasure via a map from a so-called legend. Along the way are some good old fashioned villains, some challenges and a pirate ship. Still watch it every Christmas.

A necessary book to read as a teenager
Reading J. D. Salinger's renowned book when you're younger makes perfect sense because you can relate to the main character, and his wayward ways while growing up. He's awkward, but most importantly he's on the brink of self-destruction which many teenagers can relate to. As an adult reading it, Holden Caulfield will seem like just an arrogant teenager, but as a young person you'll see he's just trying to find his way in the world, also bringing up awareness of mental health. A classic book.

The music is classic! One of the best soundtracks for that era music that I've ever heard. If you like music from the 80s you'll absolutely fall in love with this soundtrack. (0 more)
No recent music and some of the songs from the movie are not included in the soundtrack. (0 more)
Great soundtrack for throwback jams
Overall, I gave it a 9/10 because the soundtrack wasn't complete and while it's awesome music it is also music I've heard plenty of times. It has the jams that make you want to groove.
