Cozy mystery fans, sneak a peek at STIFF LIZARD by Lisa Haneberg on my blog. (How amazing is that book cover!?!)

**BOOK SYNOPSIS**
Rodent Roger, a popular Galveston Island exterminator, goes missing the day after he tells private investigator and spy shop owner Xena Cali about a concerning uptick in green iguana sightings on the island. They’re crapping in people’s boats and falling from trees. Are the lizards swimming over from Florida to escape the pythons, or is it something more nefarious? Can Xena help untangle the mess before the raucous reptiles take over Galveston?

Ultima Penelope Roger is a best-selling writer of romance novels. The Lizard Liquidators have set up shop on Galveston Island. Herpetologist Quintana Flores, PhD, works on a bizarre cruise ship that sails out of the Port of Galveston. Sasha Barlow is a driven junior reporter who’ll do anything to get the story. Ned “The Pelican Man” Quinn writes a column about bird necropsies. Captain Ethan Slaughter is the head of the Major Crimes team at the Galveston Police Department. Xena and her team will have to partner with and/or battle this cast of characters and others to solve what becomes a disturbing murder investigation.

Stiff Lizard is the third full-length book in the Spy Shop Mystery series. If you like fast-paced crime novels, clever satire, and gritty beach towns, then you’ll love Lisa Haneberg’s humorous and contemporary cozy caper.

A local group who have dubbed themselves the Winsome Witches use October to raise funds for literacy. However, this year their leader is murdered. With Jenna’s Aunt Vera a member of the group, Jenna starts poking around to find the killer.

I truly do enjoy these characters, and so I was delighted to spend time with them again. The plot does drag in the middle a bit, but the clues all come together for a great climax. There was also more about Aunt Vera’s supposed psychic abilities than normal, an emphasis I didn’t like. Overall, however, I found this a fun Halloween cozy.

Lacy Crocker is back in another fun and fur-filled adventure. The story wastes no time getting right to the business of murder – when Lacy goes to meet her design hero to show off some of her creations, she finds the designer dead on the floor in her home. As much as to protect the dead woman’s Siamese as to see justice done, Lacy jumps right in to find the killer. With a clever heroine, a dash of romance, and cats galore, there’s something in this cozy to please almost everyone.

When Charli returns to her hometown of Hazel Rock, Texas, it’s only meant to be a quick trip. When first she and then her father are accused of murder, however, she decides to hang around until she can clear her dad’s name.

The barn-as-a-bookstore setting and an armadillo named Princess with the run of the place would have been enough to pique my interest in this cozy, but in Charli I also got a believable, fallible, and perfectly human heroine. She has her issues with the town and the people that she thought she’d left in the past, but doesn’t let it stop her from doing what’s right. I’m looking forward to more adventures with Charli and Princess!

I love historical fiction set in the 1920’s, so I was really excited to get an early copy of Teetotaled to check out. It did not disappoint! The heroine, Lola, has a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor which I adored, and this book kept me chuckling all the way through.

The mystery in Teetotaled was just as entertaining. It kept me guessing, and the cast of suspects and supporting characters made me feel like I was watching a BBC production of Jeeves and Wooster.

Cozy mystery fans as well as historical fiction aficionados who don’t mind a dose of humor are sure to enjoy this book!

Note: I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

What do you get when you have a disciplined retired school teacher and her much-married full of surprises sister? A hilarious mystery that will keep you in stitches and wanting more.

When Patricia Ann is roped into visiting the newly purchased country western bar by her sister Mary Alice, she has no idea that they would get mixed into a wild murder mystery. When previous owner Ed is found dead in the bar, the sisters get knee deep in hilariously trying to solve the murder.

If you are looking for a cozy mystery with fun characters, lots of humor and quick wit, and a madcap who-dunnit, then this is a definite book to add to your TBR list.
