More odd than funny crime caper
Well after hearing about this film I hoped for something along the lines of Snatch mixed with Ocean's 11 about a jewel heist from the Natural history museum. It's no where near either of those films and only has one scene at the museum. Funny in some places but just odd more of the time.

This book was an endless road of twists and turns. The main character Venus commits a terrible crime at the very beginning and by following her through life you don’t learn exactly what it was or why she did it until she is ready to come to terms with it herself. I fi ished The Hate U Give on Christmas Eve after it say on my bookshelf for a year! I'm so glad I picked it up as it has been one of my favourite books I've read in 2019.
Very detailed and inspirational piece of writing. It really makes you think about violence and race crime in our society today.

Well done
Not usually a fan of these types of movies but this was a good one. Great acting, good- cinematography and a really good story. Everything played out well. Plenty of twists and turns. The only part I didn't enjoy was the ending. Very weak. If you like crime thrillers you'll really like this movie. Worth a watch.

Excellent pacey read
I picked up this book from a book swap bookshelf on holiday. From the moment I started reading it I could not put it down.
The storyline moved at a good pace and also gave the characters a lot of background and depth.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good crime story.
