I love Greek Mythology and Stephen Fry is one of my favourite people. All through this book his voice was in my head. Brilliant retellings and underlying humour. Brilliant!

PIck up. Open. Don't move for five hours.
Agatha Raisin is an awful woman but I promise that by the time you finish this book you will love her, warts and all.

A self-made woman who sells her business and retires early to her dream-cottage in the Cotswolds (furnished by an expensive interior decortator, naturally).

Agatha suddenly finds herself in a completely alien environment. In a effort to make her mark on the village and announce her arrival, she plots to win the village Quiche baking contest. Her plan is simple - she will enter, as her own work, a quiche bought from a top-class delicatessan in London. Unfortunatly for Agatha, the judge dies after eating it and her deception is uncovered. Worse she finds herself being held responsible for his death.

And this is when you start finding your self falling for her. From the moment the plot is hatched the reader can't fail to know the outcome, but rather than feeling righteous indignation on the part of the other contestants you can only feel sympathetic embarrasment for the situation you know Agatha is going to find herself in.

Convinced that she can redeem herself in the eyes of those around her Agatha sets off to solve a crime the police insist hasn't happened.

Highly enjoyable and amusing, you will alternate between wanting to throttle her and offer her a shoulder to cry on.

Contagion, the first book in Teri Terry's Dark Matter series
‏I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.

In Teri Terry's Contagion, Kai's sister, Callie, is missing. She disappeared a year ago and Kai is beginning to lose hope Callie will ever be found. That is until he receives a call from Shay, who is most likely the last person to see Callie before she disappeared.

With the help of Shay, Kai seeks the truth about Callie's disappearance. Their search takes them through areas affected by a painful and contagious epidemic, an epidemic that mimics the flu, and which almost no one survives.

While the description presents a typical lost child/search storyline, the book is more than that. Notice the epidemic? It is more than a common epidemic.

The chapters are short and are time-stamped which ensures the reader knows the timeline events occurred. The story is presented from Callie and Shay's perspectives. Some reviewers on Goodreads commented they were confused in the beginning but, after reading a few chapters, everything made sense.

Contagion is the first book in Teri Terry's Dark Matter trilogy. The complete trilogy was released in the UK and the 1st book has been finally released in the USA! Deception (book 2) and Evolution (book 3) are available for purchase from the UK.

This 200-word review was published on Philomathinphila.com on 8/11/19.

Hell is not a place, but an experience, one that Kisa just can't seem to escape.

Fate is fickle, after all...

You can't fight fate

With the prophecy barreling towards them, Kisa and Dolor must fight against heaven itself for their survival. But can she trust him enough to work by his side? The more she learns about Dolor, the less certain she becomes about her feelings and her future, but time isn't a luxury they can afford.

As they track down the lost Fates, pieces of the puzzle begin to line up. Love and deception. Secrets and truth. Lust and acceptance.

One thing is certain, though--Kisa and Dolor will do everything in their power to stop the destruction that seems inevitable.

New friends and old will come together, and tragedy and hope will collide in the epic conclusion of the Slivered Souls Trilogy.

Tried so hard not to devour this book in hours. I had a few wtf moments and lots of laugh out loud moments actually woke my hubby a few times! It was a hot and heavy in lots of places and written so well! After spending time in Kandis Facebook group I really felt her all through the book and one phrase stood out and made me laugh “Oh my Hagrid on a hippogriff.” Just brilliant!
Thank you Kandi so looking forward to reading your next project.
