Being a huge follower of the starwars universe. I found myself brought to tears of happiness. This movie if you didn't pay attention you will hate it. And this movie lays the foundation for some major events to come. I honestly wish I had my own discussion YouTube channel because I think I have figured out everything from who's Ray's parents are to if Luke went into the force. I am just hoping that next episode ties everything up

Originating from a discussion in our Bookworms orb, would anyone be interested in joining a Smashbomb book club?

Looking at reading one book a month from a variety of genres, which members can vote for using a poll. We can set up a new orb specifically for this, where we can then discuss each book every month.

Comment on this if you like the idea and if we get enough interest then I'll start setting things up ?

Oh goodness! This is the cutest, fluffiest book I've read in a while! I never wanted to put it down; when I had to, I couldn't stop thinking about these characters and their story. The only thing I can complain about is the lack of talk about programming and the competition. It actually felt like there was more discussion around Rishi's art than programming. Overall though, this is definitely a book I need to purchase for my shelves.

"I had the chance to see Pennebaker give a talk before a screening of Monterey Pop. The audience got incredibly rowdy during his discussion of his short film Daybreak Express and interrupted Pennebaker’s remarks, chanting “Let’s rock!” Pennebaker gave up and rolled the film. Really lousy, but fitting. Watching Pennebaker and the Maysles’ incredible documentaries in tandem give me those same raw and complex feelings about rock ‘n’ roll as an art and a primal force."

Anyone else belong to a bookclub? We have our next meeting on Monday and, as we are a wine-and-dine bookclub, we've going for a curry! Sometimes difficult to think up books to nominate that aren't too long, that people won't hate and will generate some good discussions. I think our favourite so far is probably Rebecca. We allow anyone at the meeting to nominate a book and then it goes to a vote - how do others work theirs? And of course do you have any books that really worked well for bookclub discussion?

I just joined a bookclub last month and so far really enjoy it. Anyone can nominate a book and then we all vote (2 votes each). A book stays on the nomination list for a few months and if it isn't picked it's dropped. We read Station 11 and that got a lot of discussion. Some people loved it (I fell into this camp), others were so so and a few didn't like it at all.

I recently had a very intense discussion with someone about this. Only people who know this will know enough to answer.

If someone has never seen any of these before and asks in which order to watch, what do you recommend?

Be careful, the wrong answer may incite disgust by all others who do not share your opinion!

Feel free to list your reason(s) in the comments!

Great content, discussion of things most people don't discuss, brings back memories (0 more)
Hosts don't mesh too well yet, almost a one-sided conversation - just wish more interaction and back and forth conversation. (0 more)
Love the content - An 80s kids dream conversation!
So, I really enjoyed most of this - the content is awesome and the discussion is really thoughtful and thorough and different from most podcasts of this genre. I loved how it would bring up things from my childhood in the 80s. How things scared me (Ghostbusters 1 vs 2 - definitely 1 OMG!) And I love that they talk about not all the mainstream stuff - hell Bill & Ted!! I really like listening to Steven - he's solid, talks really well and is easy to follow. Kevin needs to jump in more with conversation... he does a lot of agreeing and sound effects (Yea. Right? HaHa!) it's a bit distracting (and kinda loud) and doesn't add much to the conversation (the Colossal ep specifically). Steven really does well running the conversations and his voice is pretty smooth and mellow which is why I think maybe it's just as simple as Kevin turning his mic down a bit?! I'm sure you guys will find your groove - and I look forward to seeing it happen!

Bafflingly impenetrable crime drama. A young woman is found dead from a gunshot wound; assigned to the case is veteran homicide detective Mike Hoolihan (Clarkson) who finds it opens up many unanswered questions from her own past, raising many demons.

Sounds fairly straightforward, but film's many strange pretensions - discussion of quantum theory, astrophysics - and dourly humourless tone make it intensely hard work. Why does title not include word 'the'? It's a mystery. Why does this review not include word 'the'? Well, you've got to do something for entertainment, and this film certainly doesn't fit bill. Feels weirdly incompetent on many levels.
