What is there to say about The Evil Dead that hasn't been said before? It's a bonafide genre classic, and a masterclass in what can be done with a tiny budget. The practical effects are equally impressive as they are gross. Tom Sullivans effects work is quite something, even all these years later. Combine all of this with Sam Raimis erratic, invasive, and sometimes nauseous camera work, and the result is a unique and disturbing horror ride that still has the capacity to scare 40 years on.

Also, Bruce fucking Campbell.

Dizzy Heights
A very enjoyable film for the most part and definitely does a great job of making you feel like you are there high up in peril as well. Vertigo inducing effects as the two girls are stuck up one of the highest structures in the US. Unfortunately there are a couple of plot developments or holes that are a bit annoying, but hard to ignore. It was going to be 7/10 before these things crop up. On the whole though a very good situation thriller.

The effects are awful, the storyline is laughable, Jennifer Carpenter is terrible and the gore is gratuitous (0 more)

More of the same from the second film really. Has its moments but didn't find as funny as the other 2 films. Still has some great special effects and action scenes...but just felt something was missing this time?

Bad story, bad effects, the best thing about this film is Mary Elizabeth Winstead - and shes not wonderful.
Most upsetting for me is a Will Smith film is usually a guaranteed good watch - that tag has now gone 😔
