This book saved my life. Though this wasn't the first book published in the series, it's where the story truly begins. For fans of Drizz't Do'Urden who haven't started with this book, it's the best place to get to know our favorite Dark Elf. This book explores his childhood starting with the day of his birth and moving through everything that made him leave his home and take the first steps on what becomes an amazing journey.

I enjoyed the fantasy aspects of this film. If you are looking to hard at this film with the lens of hype behind it you will be disappointed. If you are looking for a buddy cop film with fantasy aspects you will be content. Don't think to hard about what the critics say about this film and enjoy it. I was able to get my anti-scifi watching boyfriend to enjoy this movie.

Miss Frost Ices The Imp ( Jayne Frost book 2)
By Kristen Painter

Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments

Jayne Frost is a lot of things. Winter elf, Jack Frost’s daughter, Santa Claus’s niece, heir to the Winter Throne and now…private investigator. Sort of.
When she buys a sealed box at an estate sale and cat-related circumstances cause that box to be opened, life in Nocturne Falls starts to go haywire. Jayne has no choice but to figure out what she unleashed and how to recapture it.
But Jayne suspects the woman behind the box is hiding something. Something that could cause a town resident serious trouble. Or worse, to lose their life.
With the help of her two favorite guys, a sexy vampire and a hot summer elf, and a few new friends, Jayne tackles what feels like an impossible mission. And winds up almost iced herself.

I’m really enjoying this series! It’s supernatural quirky and fun! A sugar loving princess fairy solving town mysteries while holding down the family business and will supernatural boyfriends! It’s just a fun light read.

I really enjoyed this book because it ties up some of the threads that were left hanging in the last one (Mainly, what happened with Threshold and Jeanette). This series go by fairly quickly and I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would

So, I'll be honest and say I read this book back when it came out (Oct. 2016) and do not quite remember how I felt in terms of words about the second Magnus Chase book, but I can say I did enjoy this book as much as the first one.

We're able to gain a bit more insight to the main characters and be introduced to a non-binary character, which is interesting with the events going on right now with people figuring out who they are. Alex is well written without appearing as an icon to change views, simply to open the minds and introduce the reader to them.

Hearthstone's past comes into play rather largely when they have to go to his childhood home to obtain an important item for their quest. It kind of brings light to why the Elf is the way he is. The gang uncovers he plays a rather great role I will not spoil because you need to read the book.

To sum up what I do recall, the goal is to prevent Loki from escaping his bonds. A wetstone and sword must be found to do this. Sam is also being forced into an arrange marriage by Loki to a giant (very rude if you ask me considering she is already in one she is VERY happy with).

Read the second book if you liked the first one.

Fast-paced and full of action
THE FAE KING is the fourth book in the Beyond The Mist series and we have a prophecy, a light fae King, a dark fae princess, and a mad elf prince!

This is an action-packed story that goes from enemies to lovers, sort of. Trevan and Amber don't actually hate each other - or at least, not until Trevan acts like a jerk as he allows his fears to reign. Their families have a bad history, with both sides at fault. They hate the thought of each other, and their actions out of fear only seem to compound that. It takes the mad elf prince and the prophecy to turn their hate to love and, once it does, they are unstoppable.

Fast-paced and smoothly flowing, this story skims across the surface, leaving me wanting more. I loved seeing the brothers, Storm, and Harper and want to see how the kingdom fares going forward.

I enjoyed this read and think it certainly adds to the series. It can be read as a standalone, but it makes more sense to have read them in order. Definitely recommended by me.

Netflix and chill?? I find it more Netflix and stress out about having nothing to watch.
I find this a tricky one. Although finding a series can be quite easy the selection available is pretty poor. One minute your watching your favourite series and the next it's not available right as your about to finish it.
Want to watch a super retro film?? Don't bother. At Christmas you cannot get The nightmare before Christmas, the Grinch or elf. I mean that's pretty standard for Xmas viewing right?? ??
However with 2 kids there's usually something they can watch, and the Netflix original series are usually really good to watch.

HeroQuest
HeroQuest
1989 | Adventure, Exploration, Fantasy, Fighting, Miniatures
The original and best. HeroQuest is such a gentle, yet thrilling entry into the world of RPGs, where simple dice throwing, teamwork and spell casting can allow a team to pit their strength against pre-designed quests. A vast array of furniture, special tiles, doors and evil creatures are waiting to be put on the board when you enter the room, but be prepared to have to search for traps, secret doors and pitfalls or you won't get far. One player acts as Dungeon Master, the rest pick their characters (barbarian, dwarf, wizard or elf), each with their own skills and abilities.
Dice rolling was as simple as skulls or shields - beat the enemy's roll (allowing for handicaps) to defeat them and move on.

Murder at the North Pole
April’s life changed completely when she learned Nick, the man she had fallen in love with, was Santa Claus. Now, she’s spending her first Christmas at the North Pole as Mrs. Claus. However, the stress of the holiday is nothing compared to the death of an elf. Giblet Hollyberry was not an especially popular elf, but his death comes the day after he had a very public fight with Santa. While the rest of the Claus clan doesn’t seem that concerned, April worries that the evidence is pointing toward her new husband. The North Pole isn’t normally a hotbed of crime, but it seems someone is doing their best to put Santa on the naughty list this year. Can April keep that from happening?

At its heart, this book is a cozy mystery, and it is a wonderful one. There are enough suspects, secrets, and clues to keep the reader engaged the entire way through the book. It’s the setting that makes the book stand out, and it is wonderfully done. It took me a bit to get the pictures from countless specials and movies out of my head, but April’s new world soon came fully to life for me. The characters, whether they are human or not, are very real, and I enjoyed meeting them here. And the book is overflowing with Christmas cheer – so much so that I had to start listening to some Christmas music while I was reading it. This book definitely deserves a place at the top of your nice list. I’m already looking forward to the sequel.
