Another Reynolds Success
Meet a new kind of action hero. Six untraceable agents, totally off the grid. They've buried their pasts so they can change the future...
Not sure where to start on this review without giving too much away...
Firstly Reynolds pulls off yet another solid performance. He is obviously still making up for his failings as Green Lantern!!! There is just something about this man and lethal weapons that leave me panting (in anticipation)!
6 unlikely people band together for the soul purpose of overthrowing a horrendously evil dictator, but there is a whole movie full of planning and action before the final scenes happen!
The opening car scene is awesome! The fighting and action scenes are also incredible, and kind of gross, hope you’re not squeamish... and of course it comes with the Reynolds humour, so expect a few giggles.
Good casting, well directed and acted. An overall rather enjoyable film!

Slightly oddball mummy movie from Hammer: much mayhem, sort of prefiguring The Omen in some ways, and a crawling severed hand, but no-one staggering around covered in bandages, either (at least not until the very end, and this may be intended as a knowing joke). The spirit of an evil Egyptian queen possesses the daughter of the man who dug her up and attempts to recover the relics she needs to resurrect herself.
Just about hangs together, but there are some very ropey-looking sequences and the plot doesn't really cohere - there even seems to be some uncertainty as to when exactly it's supposed to be set. A heroically earnest performance from Valerie Leon, given the camera keeps mysteriously panning down onto her chest; everyone else is okay; you wonder if the movie might have been lifted somewhat if first choice Peter Cushing had been able to complete his role. Probably not, but Hammer fans will find it passes the time reasonably enough.

Kirk Bage (1775 KP) rated The Keepers - Season 1 in TV

The second series I watched demonstrated a sharp contrast to that ethos. The Keepers is a seven part mini series that despite setting itself up as a mystery still to be solved, knows from the start that by episode seven it has exhausted its material and you will get your chance to scream outrage against the evil priesthood and the shame of masculine power at its worst.
The power of this one is watching first hand testimony of survivors that fill in pieces of a puzzle that should never have been a puzzle if not for the indoctrinated protection of a few outdated ideas of power at its very worst. The sadness is that a good soul had to die to prove it, and that it was almost certainly not special, but indicative. Listen to the contrast of how much the key victim was loved against how much the perpetrators were reviled, even though it took half a lifetime to bring it all to context.

A decent thriller
I remember watching this many years ago but couldn't remember a thing about it, so decided to give it another go after spotting it on Amazon.
As legal/crime thrillers go this is fairly decent, although you do have to suspend your disbelief at times especially as Ryan Gosling really doesnt look the part as a DA. However the story itself is quite good, it's different as we know from the beginning who did it but its interesting to see how the characters figure out how to prove it. Anthony Hopkins may be a little OTT in his performance in this (he was that evil I couldn't stand him), and there was some weird things going on with his accent - it seemed to span the entire British isles at some point.
Still overall it was fairly enjoyable, the ending may not have been as exciting as promised but it was entertaining and no overly long.

Super Sonic Speed: Chill Dog
Sonic The Hedgehog- i wanted to see this film so badly in theaters and didnt. Now after two months, i finally got a chance to see it and what did i think? It was really good. I liked the comedy, the action, sonic himself, the jokes were funny and Jim Carrey.
The plot: The world needed a hero -- it got a hedgehog. Powered with incredible speed, Sonic embraces his new home on Earth -- until he accidentally knocks out the power grid, sparking the attention of uncool evil genius Dr. Robotnik. Now, it's supervillain vs. supersonic in an all-out race across the globe to stop Robotnik from using Sonic's unique power to achieve world domination.
It is a good movie based off of a video game, now thats hard to believe, cause movies baded off of a video game usually suck. This one though is really good.

I loved it!
Me and my fiancé have been tackling this one for years we started watching two years ago but stopped, he isn't a t.v kinda guys and every movie is a struggle for him not to fall asleep! But we have finally got back round to it and got two episodes left!! I love superpowers and all that, just a little something to get lost in, A fantasy world where people can fly and heal and do all kinds of crazy things. This series is that and a whole lot more with evil villains the main one being sylar who is in it throughout, he's story becomes very repetitive but it is still good to watch, plenty of action given from the government with twists and turns around every corner, it's yet again a fight to survive. Brilliant series! If you have not yet seen it, it's definitely one to invest in.
